The Six Flags Magic Mountain (SFMM) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I think Premier has done some very cool things...after all, they DID invent the top hat element(and I prefer the inside version over the outside versions)...not to mention their coasters are all nice and smooth and their launches rock! I think a Premier at the park would be an excellent addition! Remember, they still have to fill Deja Vu's space as well, so there is room for both Premier and Intamin!

Premier is definitely capable of airtime - Orlando's Revenge of the Mummy has two good pops, one straight after the launch. So I wouldn't count them out as far as airtime is concerned!

I would, however, prefer an Intamin - more comfortable seats and if we're mixing something like Maverick and Cheetah Hunt together, I know they'll do it great!

^We've had two threads on this.

No.

$50 million dollars and technology that, no matter what they say about their timeline of building the ride, isn't going to function reliably for a long, long time. Not to mention the fact that Magic Mountain already has that same exact ride, minus the unreliable technology and the closed spaces to simulate zero-gravity, that offers almost that same amount of airtime already.

Oh, and don't forget... *GASP* it pulls 2G!!!

Almost half of what Superman pulls.

Hmmmmm This was just posted to SFMM Facebook page by Premier

Just returned from the 2012 IAAPA: International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Leadership Conference. Premier was the sponsor of the day at Six Flags Magic Mountain and for the conference keynote speech by Six Flags COO Al Weber Jr., Ph.D.

Hint maybe???

And yet, we don't get a photo-walkback tour...

Back in October while waiting to board Green Lantern, I saw several people escorted to the front of the line by what looked to be Six Flags management. All those people that were escorted to the front of the line had on polo shirts with the Premier logo on it. At the time I thought it was S&S/Arrow, so I didn't think anything of it.

Why use inferior, potentially dangerous (flying metal shrapnel) and unreliable hydraulic launch technology when you can use clean, safe, dependable magnetic propulsion technology...

It's barely inferior when it comes to ride experience: hydraulic launches are much quicker.

If I had to chose between the current rumors that are going on of a LSM (multiple) launch coaster, I would prefer:

1. Intamin

2. Premier

3. Mack

4. Zierer

All companies capable of multiple LSM launches. But just think, if there was a ride that had the same quick-transitioned style of Maverick, with some other cool elements traversing the hillside, oh man...

I'd definitely prefer Maverick/iSpeed to Chettah Hunt though.
