prozach626
I forgot about this photo from about a year ago, but I found a picture of a glazed donut bacon cheeseburger. For something that was served at my college cafeteria, it was surprisingly delicious. I think a local amateur baseball team stadium in STL was one of the origins of the donut cheeseburger, using Krispy Kreme glazed donuts. We made them at work a couple years ago. They tasted exactly how you expected them to. I'm not necessarily saying the taste was bad, but it was oddly predictable for some reason.

Nrthwnd
BUMP. Just wondering, if anybody's come across a "Special Holiday Burger" of some/any kind, for The Season? I have no idea what would be in it, or how it would be presented, but....just curious.
DoinItForTheFame
Just wondering, if anybody's come across a "Special Holiday Burger" of some/any kind, for The Season? I have no idea what would be in it, or how it would be presented, but....just curious. Okay, I'll admit... you made me curious, so I did a Google search to see if such thing did exist... Turns out it does... But I'm not sure how I feel about it: ------------------------------- However, this one looks amazingly good!!! Made of turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce!!! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!
Superbatboy
Here's one from the past of donut-burgers... (From Page 1, actually.) I still have yet to try one of these, but it's on the bucket list for sure
prozach626
^You'll think it's good, but you won't be wow'd and will likely have no burning desire to eat it again. Like I said, it tastes exactly how you would expect, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Although, maybe it's different when they weren't homemade. We brought an electric grittle into the station and had one of our guys take a 20 minute trip out of jurisdiction across the river to pick up doughnuts in a krispy kreme. He took the drive in his personal car of course, since the krispy kreme was in north St. Louis, which wasn't cop friendly even before a certain "Hand up, don't shoot movement." Nrthwnd
^ I might put one together, using a Tom Horton's glazed donut. We got a franchise a few blocks away, so the convenience is there. Heck they've done a Poutine Donut, so....?
laqueefa
My band recently played South Lake Tahoe and was looking for some late night eats. Usually we would hit Fat Burger in the casino, but our local friend suggested we try the Lucky Beaver Bar & Burger. WOW, talk about a tasty burger! The patties were HUGE and made from steak. I had the Royal Flush: GRILLED ONIONS AND MUSHROOMS SMOTHERED IN BLUE CHEESE CRUMBLES AND A1 STEAK SAUCE SERVED WITH SPRING MIX, TOMATO AND PICKLE CHIPS I highly recommend trying this place out. Since it's on the Nevada side, people smoke inside the establishment. However, they have great ventilation so I barely noticed any smell at all and I'm highly sensitive to it. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/lucky-beaver-bar-and-burger-stateline-2?tab=food
Nrthwnd
How the F did I miss this???? Happy National Hamburger Day ~ Serious Eats Not only did we survive the Mayan apocalypse, December 21 is also an arbitrary National Hamburger Day! (Other National Hamburger Days, according to the Internet, are May 28 and July 28.) So celebrate your existence with a delicious burger, if you don't already do that on a regular basis. THIS is a Veras Game Day Burger. With two rings. Ring-a-ding-ding!

ajc47
Clever with the burger and stocking cap. On last Saturday, 12/23 I had my usual at 5 Guys, bacon burger with peppers, grilled onions and lettuce. Split the fries with my brother cause they give you so many, and finished with a Barqs cream soda.

Philrad71
What is buttery about it? The bun? Also, does Culver's serve beer? Or are they like a fast food place like McDonalds? Just curious as I have never been to one before.
CaptainUnknown
Culver's is a quick-service/fast-casual chain found mostly in the Midwestern United States. The buns are buttered and toasted. Just don't ignore the cheese curds or frozen custard
Nrthwnd
Hmmmm. Buttered buns. Toasted, too. And for this, I will totally ignore, the curds and custard.

ytterbiumanalyst
Culver's is one of the better fast food burgers. They're based in Wisconsin, so heavy on the dairy. For basically McDonald's prices, you get way better quality. I like their "snack pack"--which is a reasonable size burger, fries, and 16 oz. drink (go with their house root beer, it's awesome) for $4-5 depending on burger toppings. It's a full meal, they just call it a "snack" because Murkah.
Nrthwnd
Local burger franchises (like Culver's) are honestly, so much better than the National ones etc. IMhO. Vera's Canuck Burger. Yum, eh?
