Nrthwnd
^ Heh. Here's a couple of pix of the Double Double Burger w/Bacon & Cheese I had at the White Spot franchise, in Playland(PNE) (and it's elsewhere in the city), during my Fright Night visit to the park last Wednesday. It was great. Would definitely order one again. With a large fries and a strawberry milkshake, the total came to $20 Cdn. So that's what? $15 U.S.? This - was - Awesome! Sorry the photo doesn't show the juicy, messy innards of this.
Nrthwnd
And here's some facts I just discovered about the celebrated Ham-Burger.... Hot and Juicy Hamburger Facts ~ Hamburgers account for almost half of all sandwiches sold in the USA. ~ Americans consume over 50 billion burgers a year. ~ McDonald’s sells 75 burgers each second (or 270,000 burgers an hour!). ~ The oldest burger chain in the United States is White Castle. ~ Cheese became a popular addition to hamburgers during the 1920s. ~ American GI’s during WWII tried to rename hamburgers as “Liberty Sandwiches.”

Nrthwnd
Ha! I got a Burger named after me! Sort of... Every year, for Halloween give outs, we try and find some different candy for the kids, and the young-at-heart parents, who dress up with their kids. This year, in addition to chocolate bars, we got a bag of those gummy "foods". This one had an ice cream cone, a sandwich, a hot dog, and of course, a hamburger in the box. Many, many of each one in the box. Like "many many herrings". But on closer inspection I realized each of these gummies were give NAMES, too! And so.... Hot DOUG Ice KIM Cone Sandwich SAM... ...and WILLIAM Burger! Actually, I wished they'd named it Bill Burger, instead. No Matter. It was a good laugh when I discovered it. ..and ME! (o; Yummy Layers of Squishy Rubbery SUGAR! The Other Three.
ytterbiumanalyst
^ That's a fun find. ~ American GI’s during WWII tried to rename hamburgers as “Liberty Sandwiches.” That's right. I'll take a liberty sandwich and freedom fries because America. Still proud of her. Just a little embarrassed now too.
Philrad71
^ I hear you, Andrew. We're kinda like the laughing stock of the world right now. Laughing, nervous and embarrassed for us all at the same time. After checking this thread out, I realized that it's been a while since I have had a really good burger. Perhaps I will take some hamburger out of the freezer and make one for dinner tonight or tomorrow night. I know one thing tho...it won't have fuc%king pumpkin on it! Probably "not as good as blah blah blah," but they'll do for now. EDIT(6:50pm): Got'em and an order of those onion ring-a-ding-dings, too! The show was really good too. Such a workout for the lead actress!

Take your pick - or try both, along with cutely "reduced" burgers/sliders. Photos from http://www.tdrexplorer.com Thanks! The Ant-Man Burger(s). The red buns look iffy, but that slice of tomato is GI-Normous! The Wasp Burger. Check those onion rings out. SOLD! (o:

Nrthwnd
^ Very very nice they look. Yumm x2! And we just got back from an OMG visit to a brand new burger fave place (to us). On The Drive (ten blocks from where we live) and the total (+tip) with beer, and a BOGOfree coupon on the back of a Safeway grocery paper receipt, of all places = $30 Cdn! David had the Big Texas; I had the Le Nordique...we were overwhelmed by both. So, we will - be - back - no - doubt - about it. https://relishburger.ca/ Where we were headed ~ 7th Avenue and Commercial Drive. Lots of glass, here. We sat in the corner up front. Easy to remember, that name, hmm? It was very quiet tonight. Only two others there, and they were gone by the time we ate. Le Menu - Texas and Nordique were ours. (o: Clean kitchen and 2-person staff tonight. David's Big Texas, after he mashed down the top bun. My Nordique. I was entranced with how it all looked. And David got ahead of me in the nom-nom-nom-ing. Definitely satisfied And...I caught up....eventually. Burp.
