[RCT3] Majestic Gardens

Recommended Posts

Majestic Gardens is a new theme park. Started by the owner, Lily, she had a goal in mind as she wanted the park to be "garden-based" as she said, "I don't want to walk into a park and see a bunch of plain dirt and grass, I want to see a paradise." We start in the year 1967, where we only have a garden. The park is still being built under the supervision of Lily and her husband, Ryan. They both had a clear vision of what the architects were to do and would not settle for anything less. They both spent no expense in creating the park.

In September of 1967, the parks owners, Lily and Ryan, contacted a famous manufacturing company, called the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, the manufacturers of Blue Streak which had opened in 1964 at the world famous Cedar Point. Lily and Ryan were wanting a wooden roller coaster to debut on opening day of the park. After about 13 months of constructing the coaster, the "Timber wolf" was now ready for opening day, which was still undecided among Lily and Ryan. The coaster is 89 ft tall, and has a top speed of 48 mph. While construction was taking place, I managed to talk Lily into letting me take some pictures of the construction site and park in its early development. These pictures below are from June of 1968, to October of 1968.

Another picture I got, but in this one, you can see large cranes.

Lily gave me this picture from inside the park. Looks like the coaster is very tall.

Lily managed to get this picture from a plane that flew above that park during construction.

I got a picture with the 89ft lift hill completed in August of 1967.

In late August, Lily took a picture of a milestone. The coaster is now testing.

Sorry Iv'e been gone, I have had a lot of school work as well as family emergencies that have happened. I know that there aren't a lot of you guys that are interested in this park, but I really like making theme parks. Anyway, I have found some pictures from newspapers and even some that Lily has given me. When I first met Lily, she was in her mid 60's and her husband was in his late 50's. I met them in 1967 when I moved into town with them, and I fell in love with both of them. But Lily has just informed me that her husband has just passed away a few hours ago, due to a heart attack. (Keep in mind that this is the year 2016, not 1967. I am doing a little time-line.) we were both in shock and very saddened by his untimely passing, but he said to Lily a few days before he died, that he wanted to give me some pictures of the theme park, which are down below. (A little side-note, I would really like for you guys to give me feedback, it can be good or bad, but mainly on what I could do better)

In March of 1968, the Red Baron was put in as the first flat ride. This ride is just like a normal chair swing ride, but themed to crop duster airplanes.

This is the construction of an Arrow Hyper Coaster. Lily said that this is the first picture she took of the construction of the coaster.

Lily loved taking night pictures of the park. "It was, and still is, very elegant at night. Peaceful."

I'll chime in that this is a really solid start with some solid detailing.

One tip I'll give for future updates is to name a peep David Walsh, and then press Ctrl+U. This toggles all the sidebars and menus from view and makes your screenshots look more professional.

By May of 1968, the construction for the hyper coaster was completed, and Lily had named it "Flux Capacitor" The ride is 148' tall, and has a top speed of 73 mph. Both Lily and Ryan don't know what to else to put in the future world. For now, Land of Invention (the future world) has been closed off. Also in May, Red Baron's atmosphere has been completed. It blends nicely with the adjacent Timber Wolf. When at night, Timber Wolf is lit up in red which gives the ride a much more menacing look, hence the name Timber Wolf. Lily and Ryan thought it would be a good idea to add a single rider queue to have the waiting time as short as possible. They added the single rider queue for both Red Baron and Flux Capacitor.

In June of 1968, construction started on a new ride, and one that would stand the test of time. During the time it was being built by Arrow, another log flume on the west coast also being built by Arrow, was going to make headlines. The Timber Mountain Log Ride at Knotts Berry Farm was to be the first Arrow log flume ride to open, but the one at Majestic Gardens was the first log flume to start construction in 1968. When Lily and Ryan found out that they were getting the first Arrow log flume, they were so happy, but shortly after, they found out that the West Coast was also getting one. Ryan took a trip down to Knotts Berry Farm just about two weeks before the opening of The Timber Mountain Log Ride to check it out. He took many pictures of the attraction and gave them to Lily to see what their competition was. Lily insisted Ryan that their log flume will be better than the west coasts. Also in June of 1968, the ground behind the central gardens was marked. Lily has asked me not to share anymore details about it, other than it is still here at Majestic Gardens in 2016.

Lily and Ryan were out of the country for most of the construction of the log flume. When they got back after 7 months (Now January of 1969) the ride was completed.

Check your Parks folder in your Documents, and see if you have any files with a .dat.bak extension. If you do, the .bak is a backup file automatically created when you save your park. If something happens to the main file (corrupted during crash, etc), you can delete the .bak from the backup, and the file will be restored from one save behind the main.

If your issues ground your park forever, I'm sorry for your loss. That said, I think you can take this as further experience and create something equally impressive!

I opened up Rct3 and I went to Load Games and the park file wasn't there. I did what you told me, but for some reason, it didn't work. I have started a new park based on Jules Verne and space exploration. The park will be themed to Steampunk (very hard style to do with limited cs) and future predictions from people in the late 1800's. I got my inspiration from HS Designs 'Revolution City'

I don't know when I will start posting my work on the park, but the park is still in progess.
