DanSm1l3r
I am part of a team of five people working on a full scale recreation of Alton Towers Resort and Theme Park in NoLimits 2. This recreation is to be fully interactive with all attractions made available to ride! At the current moment we are in the early stages of park development but as our project progresses, I'll keep you up to date with all of our work! Just to give an idea of what this will look like, here's a few screenshots of some areas of the park at the current stage. Included are Air, The Towers, Katanga Canyon and Towers Street. We don't want to give away too much yet, but we hope you'll stay with us as we bring you the latest updates from our project! fraroc
It was only a matter of time before we saw full scale park recreations on NL2....I applaud you for your work on this project. Funny, many times when I was younger, I've looked at the 3D animation previews for new coasters at parks and thought "Gee, wouldn't be awesome if there was a roller coaster game on the computer like RCT that?" With NL2, it's totally possible to make parks that realistic looking....
DanSm1l3r
We always have something new to show off, like this, Dark Forest. Also I thought I'd do an insight into who's on the team and what we do. I'm responsible for most of the tracked rides, creating an NL2 spline for the trains/cars/boats/whatever to follow. Coaster-inc created this project nearly 5 years ago, when he started a NL-into-RCT3 recreation of Nemesis, which expanded to Forbidden Valley, and now, the entire park in NL2. Dave Ainsworth is responsible for Air's trackwork, and soon, a lot of the foliage around the park. Boz, who started modelling the whole park back in 2011/2012, is responsible for landscape modelling, he's essentially the foundation on which this park project is being built. Finally we have TheCodeMaster, who's modelling all the custom trains, scripting the animations, and bringing the static things the rest of us make to life! Enjoy this mini update, and keep an eye on our facebook page, as soon as we hit 400 likes, we'll be bringing a video out to look at the entire park! Rita, escape the Dark Forest at 100kmh! Feel the force of accelerating from 0-100kmh in 2.5 seconds! If you... go down... to the woods... today... you'd better not go... alone... TH13TEEN... Another look at Rita's high speed turns. DanSm1l3r
We've finally started getting the video ready, as Dave has returned from a holiday and I have returned from a weekend at Alton Towers. Another small update for you too, here's a early look at the boat channel for The Flume! Enjoy! Time to get wet on The Flume!
DanSm1l3r
It's finally time! We thank you all for staying with us on this project, be it Twitter followers or Facebook likers! We're certainly not finished yet, but this is showing how far we've come since the start of it, and we've got a long way to go yet, so don't go anywhere! Now we have an update from Boz, who's taken a quick break from landscaping to do a beautiful job of making the Alton Towers Skyride gondolas! Enjoy! This view will be common, seeing the brightly coloured skyride cabins floating above you! Don't worry, seating is available! DanSm1l3r
With TheCodeMaster's recent visit to Alton Towers for the first time, work is picking up speed again, with Oblivion's station being worked on. For some things... There is no rational explanation...
DoinItForTheFame
This looks promising. I just hope this project does not turn out like so many No Limits projects where people just give up on them, and they fall by the way side.
DanSm1l3r
Things have begun to pick up again, with Boz working hard on completing the skyride cars to an immense level of detail, and TheCodeMaster working on redoing The Smiler's trains. DanSm1l3r
With the recent completion of the Skyride cars, here's a look at them in NoLimits 2, complete with a subtle swing scripted into them. Enjoy!
DanSm1l3r
Big update from Forbidden Valley now! Coaster-inc and Dave have spent a phenomenal amount of time working on the small details of Air, such as the lift hill, and track work around the entire ride. The stairs, chain return, cable trays, even the cable TIES, have been painstakingly modeled and incorporated into the rest of the environment. We've dropped some rough grass textures in to the land to show how the area may look once completed, but incorporating it into the rest of the park will be difficult, as we're missing high resolution plans for Nemesis. But for now, we're doing the best we can to make sure everything's getting worked on! Enjoy these screenshots!
DanSm1l3r
Here's a teaser for what we've got coming soon, don't miss it! Don't... go... alone...

DoinItForTheFame
^ Love the video! Looks awesome! Can't wait to see more! I'm glad that you all were able to script the free fall drop!!
DanSm1l3r
With the version 2.2 update released for NoLimits 2, many improvements have been made around the park, including Rita, Th13teen, and The Smiler! We'll have some screenshots to bring you once we've got the areas sufficiently show-off-able! On another note, four of the team (Myself, Coaster-inc, Dave and Boz) are meeting up in just under a week at Alton Towers to get various data for the project as well as getting up to all kinds of antics! We'll be live tweeting the five days on our account @ATP_NL2, so be sure to hit our follow button and get some laughs as well as seeing the fun we get up to as a team over the meetup. We can't wait to continue improving the project, and every day sees something new, so every like we get, every follow means something to us. See you in the next update! DanSm1l3r
A slightly unexpected update, Air is now starting to look very lush with new trees and trackwork thanks to Speedtree and the 2.2 update. Enjoy a couple of screenshots! The lovely landscape of the first ever B&M flying coaster... Here is a place anyone can feel serene, calm, get away from the world, and just fly... Midgetman82
This project looks amazing! I'll be sure to keep up with what you guys have in store. I'm assuming with the recent update, the trains on The Smiler will be altered as well?
DanSm1l3r
Out of respect for the victims of the incident in June, we've held back with any major updates on The Smiler until it has reopened, but yes, the custom trains are no longer needed as we'll be able to use the stock Gerstlauer Infinity coaster 1 trains with custom texturing. Once The Smiler is back in regular operation we're most likely going to post a big catchup post on the ride in NL2
DanSm1l3r
THANK YOU! To everyone everywhere who's shown us the support that's kept us motivated to keep bringing you the updates! Over our trip earlier this month we broke 500 likes on our Facebook page and as a result we've compiled a short video showing off the Alton Towers Resort at it's best! Anyone who hasn't seen our page please go check it out, there is where we show off ALL our updates that might not get posted here or on other forums, I promise you'll never be let down by what we post as we make more and more progress! Thank you all!
DanSm1l3r
We had hoped to have timed this with the reopening, but with it looking less and less likely that it'll happen this year, we thought why wait, and so we've put together a video showing the work we've been doing on The Smiler, out of the spotlight. Enjoy!
