Wait, when did that become a steel coaster? It was those sneaky bastards at RMC, wasn't it? We all thought it was down for extended maintenance, but no! They've been bringing in their steel track at night while we weren't looking! Damn those coaster gnomes!

Nah, they converted it while the park was open. It went unnoticed because nobody goes into that corner of the park.

 

But besides the new Twisted Terminator, my favorite steel coaster under 100 feet is Gold Rusher.

Really none stand out, maybe Movie park Germany I did have tons of fun with the cheerleading day because of my friends reaction.

I never had a ride I liked to do closed all day without prior knowledge. I did visit the Efteling yesterday and the Python was closed all day and I did come to watch the reconstruction, does that count?

29. What is the last thing you remember eating in a theme park?

Frikandel bun. To explain Frikandel are Dutch specialties and they aren't found that easy outside our borders except for the Dutch part of Belgium. Either way it is a round stick of meat from the deep fry wrapped in puff pastry and curry sauce added then heated up and then ready to eat. Some people like it still after it cooled down but come on meat is suppose to be hot.

The soundtrack of that ride. I really love coaster soundtracks even more when Ima produces it.

1. What is the best park visit you had in 2017?

I really really loved Port Aventura. I'd have to say that one, although I had a couple memorable days where I was on a rush layover and banged out some obscure parks. Coming off a plane a little buzzed and running around a city is one of my favorite things.

 

2. Have you ever traveled to a park with a specific ride in mind only for it to be closed all day?

Definitely. Missed Hulk at Universal AND Kraken at Sea World on separate visits to Orlando (though at least I knew they would be closed). Drove out of my way to Clementon Park, Rye's Playland, and Camden Park for the their woodies and each had their respective largest woodie closed. Didn't pay to go into any of them, just turned around at the gate and left.

 

3. GCI or Gravity Group? Pick one.

Gravity Group has the edge, but I do enjoy GCIs, and even love some of their better ones. I prefer CCIs to both of these.

 

4. How many different parks did you visit in 2017?

11, and most of those were because I was in the area for work trips or they were on the way to visiting family.

 

5. How many times did you visit your home park in 2017?

None times. Wasn't worth it for me this year.

 

6. What was the first RMC you rode?

It was Twisted Colossus, but I had to go back and check. I rode TC, Medusa, and Goliath all within a few weeks of each other.

 

7. Best view from the top of a lift?

Medusa Steel immediately comes to mind, although MF and the coasters at Ocean Parks obviously are great as well.

 

8. What new-for-2018 roller coaster are you most anticipating? Pick one.

Cedar Point's RMC, but beyond the RMCs there actually isn't too much I'm super excited for. I am enjoying watching the Asian market expand though.

Intamin for me, they're just a little more classic. And there are more of them.

 

10. What was your favorite new-to-you ride of 2017?

Almost everything I rode in 2017 was new to me, and there were a few good ones. Shambhala was so dreamy. Flying Aces too.

Gold Reef City or Parque Espana - take me far, far away please, somewhere fairly obscure.

I was on the assumtion that that was coasters only so I didn't thought of it back then. Either way I explain it later, I did not recieve the ride well and I'm of the believe the ride has gone through a downwards spiral to the point that I don't enjoy it and probably won't ride it anytime soon again.

The Voyage. Not that it was that bad but after such a long coaster trip and with so many good rides, this one just didn't live up to the high expectations I gave it. I will have to try it again at Holliwood Nights though.

Only riden a few but Blue Streak comes to mind.

Cedar Point. I truly loved Disneyworld but I'm a thrillseeker and as much as the immersion of Animal Kingdom can give me, I need more thrills. Although after Star Wars land opens I may reconsider.

Not necessarily bad but Holiday World. I visited a lot of awesome parks this year but my experience with the Voyage was the only one that really disappointed me.

1. What is the best park visit you had in 2017?

 

Arguably Kings Island. I did a HW/KI double feature, and while Holiday World was outstanding, KI just narrowly takes the win.

Yep. I was taking my first trip to the non-Disney Florida parks and Kumba was one of my most anticipated attractions. I got there only to find it down for annual refurbishment.

 

3. GCI or Gravity Group? Pick one.

 

GCII. I don't have much GG experience (Boardwalk Bullet, The Voyage, and Wooden Warrior are the only ones that come to mind), and while all were quite good, I give the edge to the fine folks from Pennsylvania. GCII has only gotten better with time.

 

4. How many different parks did you visit in 2017?

 

12, if I'm not mistaken. All Orlando parks, Wild Waves, KI, and HW.

 

5. How many times did you visit your home park in 2017?

 

Too many to count.

New Texas Giant

This is a very tough call. Mean Streak, Griffon (I love the view of Hampton Roads), Behemoth, and Fury 325 all come to mind, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

A Batman - The Ride clone. It's the best coaster in the size range that a Knoebels steel coaster should be.
