January 21, 2018: Chongqing Amusement Park and Fantawild Sci-fi Park

Chongqing Amusement Park: This park has been around for a while. It has a lot of rides, including a Golden Horse Spinning Coaster and Roller Coaster (double loop and cork). As it had rained several hours before my visit, Spinning Coaster did not open today, but Roller Coaster did. It is like several others I have ridden. It is a bit rough. It became coaster #1118 for me to ride. This park is easily accessible from the Chongqing metro. That is a big plus for this place.

Fantawild Sci-Fi Park: This park is notable for being the first Fantawild park ever. It has a Golden Horse Spinning Coaster and unlike the one at Chongqing Amusement Park, this one was open today! It became coaster #1119 for me to ride. There used to be a fruit worm kiddie coaster, but has been removed. It is the first coaster to be removed from a Fantawild park. This park is a bit small and is a bit faded. Most of the mechanical rides have either been removed or are SBNO. The theater based rides are still open as are the carousel and the coaster. One of two things will happen here. One is that the rides will be replaced with new rides and buildings will be given a new paint job or the other thing is that the park will close. The park is surrounded by hotels, apartments and is next to a shopping center. It would seem that this land would be very valuable by now and with the lack of a crowd today, it seems this park may not get much business. It has no room to grow. It became the 8th Fantawild for me to visit. I like Fantawild parks and hope this one is not closed.

Dino Rampage is a nice ride through similar to Spider-Man and Transformers, but has dinosaurs instead.

This was inside a large building.

The fruit worm coaster has been removed. This is first coaster to be removed from a Fantawild park.
