Great pictures and reports! Makes me wish SDC weren't so far away from me. We went last year and had a blast, but that is a LONG damn car trip :)

Thanks for the trip reports. They are great. I love this park and cannot wait until I can visit again sometime in the future.

A bit late, I know but...

Fourth Visit Of The Season!
(Okay, more like 11th visit of the season. But I haven't felt like doing a TR in a while, soooo yeah.)

We hit up the park on labor day weekend. We weren't to worried about the possibility of the park being packed, we knew we would get to ride what we wanted, and then head out. . . Well that was almost the case. We got to the park, and we started with our normal rounds. Back row of Wildfire, then over to Powder Puff, the Giant Barn Swing, and over to Outlaw Run. We go to Outlaw Run, and we were headed down the Trailblazer line as a train full of happy riders came flying into the brake run!! As we approached the gate we noticed them unlocking the restraints, and making everyone on the train get back in line. They sent out the empty train to get everyone on the brake run off the ride. They then dispatched the train from the station, and left it sitting at the top of the lift hill, and left the other train sitting on the brake run. Not sure what was going on, but we left, and figured we do everything else, and then come back to Outlaw Run later in the day. We went over and did Lost River, Firefall, American Plunge, ate some food, rode Thunderation, and Fire-In-The-Hole, headed back over to Poweder Puff, which was now down. . . So we swung by Giant Barn Swing, and headed over to Outlaw Run. Well, it was still down and we overheard the ride operator telling guest at the entrance of the ride that it most likely wouldn't be open again today, but might open the next day. Not sure what was wrong with it, but when we were on the park train we noticed all of the maintenance men sitting around the second set of drive tires in the station. Anyway, so we headed over to the train, took a ride around the park, went back to Wildfire, got in another back row ride, and then headed out!! All in all, a pretty good visit, with the exception of missing out on Outlaw Run!! Oh well, there is always this coming weekend!! We also noticed that the park started decorating for Christmas!! (Thankfully it makes me not feel so bad about having to start putting lights up on our house this weekend in order to get them all done in time.) So I also took some photos of the the amount of detail they put into their Christmas light display!! Anywho,

Enjoy the photos!
1.jpg
We have arrived!!
2.jpg
I think that date is like important or something...
3.jpg
There's something important about this cave.
4.jpg
Leather?! ;)
5.jpg
Lights... EVERY WHERE!!!
6.jpg
I love the way they went to all the work to make sure the lights followed the waves of the flag.
7.jpg
I wonder how many fuses they blow. . .
8.jpg
Lights... Lights... LIGHTS!!
10.jpg
They will seriously put lights on anything.
11.jpg
This will still remain one of the best settings for a roller coaster... EVER.
12.jpg
There is so much theming everywhere at the park.
13.jpg
Off to the baby making tunnel.
14.jpg
The skillet food never gets old!!
15.jpg
Oh dear god. What a line. Thank goodness for trailblazer passes!!
16.jpg
I love that even Fire In The Hole's pet Dalmation gets its own name plate!!
17.jpg
Off to ride Outlaw Run!!
18.jpg
Little did I know this would be the last riders of the day.
19.jpg
There she sat, all broken hearted. Oh wait, no that was me because I couldn't ride Outlaw Run!!
20.jpg
The lines were crazy!! Again, thank goodness for trailblazer!
21.jpg
I see you over there.
22.jpg
Someone is about to get very moist.
23.jpg
The lights are so perfectly aligned.
24.jpg
I wonder if this is real...
25.jpg
For those of you who were wondering...
26.jpg
It's a Double Shot!
27.jpg
And a forceful one at that.
28.jpg
A look at the construction markers.
29.jpg
"E Coaster."
30.jpg
That tall one in the back is new.
31.jpg
These might be important to the people building the new coaster.
32.jpg
The all new "Construction Sight Tours!"
33.jpg
There is a new fence!!
34.jpg
More people off to view the construction!
35.jpg
Thunderation sure does have a lot of theming!!
36.jpg
And the station is REALLY tall!!
37.jpg
The least expensive "Build A Bear" in the world!
38.jpg
The park train!!
39.jpg
Lets take a look...
40.jpg
Interesting. . .
41.jpg
OMG. These are just as good (if not better) than the skillet food!
42.jpg
Such a relaxing park.
43.jpg
Even Wildfires sign has lights on it!
44.jpg
Lights around the food signs! (Seriously everything has lights on it!)
45.jpg
They are getting pretty high up there.
46.jpg
I see more lights!!
47.jpg
Pretty sure half the park missed Outlaw Run today!! (Because, you know... it was closed and all.)
48.jpg
More lights.
49.jpg
The lights never end...
50.jpg
"We will be the last to let you down."
51.jpg
The back side of some of the Christmas lights.
52.jpg
A broken upskirt shot.
53.jpg
They are in for a blast!
54.jpg
Away they go!
55.jpg
Going down!! Through the trees. (That takes talent)
56.jpg
This is what happens when the entire family ends up on one side of the boat.
57.jpg
Hard to see, but that entire thing is covered in lights.
58.jpg
So much attention to detail when hanging the lights.
59.jpg
I see some lights on!!
60.jpg
Such a fun ride!!
61.jpg
Any guesses as to what's next??
62.jpg
You guessed it!! The train!
63.jpg
The park wasn't overly crowded.
64.jpg
I see more lights!!
65.jpg
Poweder Puff!
66.jpg
Yes, that's an inversion.
67.jpg
Ha! Poor Ma.
68.jpg
More Powder Puff!
69.jpg
Where Outlaw Run sat for the majority of the day.
70.jpg
Going down!!
71.jpg
That's a lot of moistness.
72.jpg
Keeping the old around for theming.
73.jpg
Wildfire doing it's thing.
74.jpg
A "NEVER BEFORE SEEN SHOT" of Wildfire's loop!! <3
75.jpg
Damn sun.
76.jpg
And I thought I was bad with how many Christmas lights I put up!!
78.jpg
This is where it all started.
77.jpg
Interesting to know.

I love this report! They do start early. When you have 4 million lights to string, it takes a while.

Love the photos and review! I have visited the park 7 times this season and 4 out of the 7 times I have been there Outlaw Run has been broke down the entire day. I was quite miffed the only time I made it for Moonlight Madness it was broke down once again. Dunno whats going on with it this year. Personally for me Wildfire is the best coaster there and fortunately I have only seen it broke down once. As for the construction clearing by ThuNderaTion, yes it is getting huge!

Cool report but I really want to just talk about xmas lights. I, too, am a big fan. How does SDC attach their lights to the signs in such a way that, for example in one of the last light pics, they go with the flow of the sign? Are they stapled on or something? They look nice and tight. What we really need are pictures of your xmas lights! Pleaseeeee? :b

They are stapled in place. If you look closely at the photo of the kettle chips sign you can see the little silver staples holding them in place!!

Pictures of my lights?! . . . Maybe I'll start a thread in the random random random category for my light show! ;)
