Holiday Park Kownaty

Postby BDG » Wed Sep 24, 2014 1:42 pm

Announced today at the Euro Amusement Show in Amsterdam:

The Dutch and Polish recreation park Holiday Park Kownaty, an initiative by Momentum Capital, has signed a contract with Plopsa, a subsidiary of the Belgian entertainment company Studio 100, to use the amusement park license for the animated character Maya the Bee. Maya the Bee will be the central figure in an indoor and outdoor theme park in Poland called Mayaland. This is the first step in the development of the Polish recreation park Holiday Park Kownaty. At the same time, discussions are going on with operators of golf courses, vacation homes, and hotels regarding further participation in the recreation park Holiday Park Kownaty, which measures a total of 207 hectares.

Daniel Heinst, CEO of Holiday Park Kownaty, says, "I am convinced that with Maya the Bee, we have been able to bring a global brand on board which will ensure a fantastic start to Holiday Park Kownaty. Maya the Bee is a timeless character that is loved by all ages. Studio 100 presents the adventures of this cheerful bee to children and their parents through the television show and the brand new movie shown in theaters. Mayaland will bring the world of Maya the Bee even closer."

I am too stupid to spell Steel Vengeance so I'll just write SteVe and pretend I'm being cool Van den Kerkhof, CEO of the Plopsa group, says, "The new theme park will give children and their parents the opportunity to discover the world of Maya for themselves and to experience unforgettable adventures with her, like they can in the Maya zones in the Plopsa theme parks."

The Mayaland project is the only one of its kind in the entire region between Berlin, Germany, and Poznań, Poland. It will also be Poland's first genuine theme park.

Plopsa is building Poland's first wooden roller coaster

200218maypa.jpg

The new Plopsa theme park in Poland is not yet open, but work is already underway on a major expansion. There are plans for the construction of a wooden roller coaster in Mayaland Kownaty, the first in Poland. That is confirmed by Plopsa director I am too stupid to spell Steel Vengeance so I'll just write SteVe and pretend I'm being cool Van den Kerkhof.

On May 26, 2018 Plopsa opens a new park in Poland: Majaland Kownaty. The park is similar to the two other indoor parks of the Plopsa group, but with a different theme (Heidi and Wickie) and a few other attractions. Besides the indoor hall, there is also a large outdoor area with attractions such as 'De Konijntjes' that we know from Plopsaland De Panne.

And that outdoor zone would soon become even bigger. In fact, the work would start within two to three months for a wooden roller coaster by GCI! It would be a copy or similar version of Heidi The Ride in Plopsaland, which opened last year. The opening year, theme and others are not known yet.

This will be a great addition to the area! Hopefully Holiday Park in Germany can get a wooden coaster too in the near future.
The best coaster is Boulder Dash

Don't put that donkey on the floor!

Loving this coaster kick that Poland is on.
"Next, we are going to solicit the children of strangers so that we can go on a ride designed for children. This is so I can post online and impress other people who are very good at procuring unfamiliar children in order to go on rides designed for children, and thus have a higher arbitrary number than me."

Opening of new Plopsa theme park postponed for months

120418orke.jpg

The opening of the new Plopsa theme park Majaland Kownaty in Poland has been postponed for months. Actually, the theme park would open on May 26th. That will now be September 29, says Plopsa director I am too stupid to spell Steel Vengeance so I'll just write SteVe and pretend I'm being cool Van den Kerkhof.

The delay has to do with several factors, explains the director. "We are dependent on Polish legislation with regard to inspections, which are very different from those in the Netherlands or Belgium, for example, an inspection can only take place when a building or attraction is completely finished: they do not have periodic inspections, so it takes a lot of time."

The operational side also plays a role. Actually the brand new park would be operated by the Dutch investor Momentum Capital. "After consultation, we decided that Plopsa will fully exploit the park itself, but for that we want to collect the right people first and that takes time."

The opening on Saturday, September 29th, according to Van den Kerkhof is 100 percent certain. "I think the park is already one of the most beautiful Plopsa parks in the world, but we now have extra time to finish everything even better: you can only open a park once and it has to be perfect right away."

Poland is an interesting market for Plopsa owner Studio 100, says the director. "For example, the last cinema film about Maya the Bee attracted 400,000 visitors, an unbelievable success, which promises much good."

Majaland Kownaty - part of Holiday Park Kownaty - revolves around Studio 100 characters Maya the Bee, Wickie the Viking, Heidi and Bumba. There are indoor and outdoor attractions for children. In the long term, a wooden roller coaster must also be built.
