robbalvey
Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Kings Island (KI), this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. CoasterCanada
Canada is geting an Italian Job ride too... Heres the construction pics on the PCW website. I think the Canadian Italian Job better then the one at PKI. CoasterCanada
I think the PCW Italian Job ride is in a better location then the one at PKI. The one at PCW is located near the Great Canadian Mindbuster and the Orbitor ride in a new theme area called Action Zone. I think the PKI Italian Job ride in located in a themed area called Hell! - Hehe! 8)
disneygurlz2s
I think the PKI Italian Job ride in located in a themed area called Hell! - Hehe! You know, I wanted to be ticked off at you for that comment, but then I realized.... it's true. Other than park location, though (and for those who are unfamiliar with where the "hell" section of PKI is, it is right behind the Eiffel Tower) do you really think the ride designs are different? CoasterCanada
So you do know where the "Hell" section is at PKI then. Thats good cause most people dont know where that is located. I think both Italian Job rides are going to have the same lay-out and paint job. 8) BWT - Theres a "Hell" section at PCW too. Its right behind Wonder Mountain. kenshinmac
Does it strike anyone else that Paramount seems to like pimping their movies that just royally suck with rides and the like. Am I the only one that sees this ride as being a potential nightmare? I mean those are ITTY-BITTY trains and what is it like 3 of them... This thing is gonna be a zoo all the time. Unless they have absolutely amazing maintenance the effects are gonna be down a lot. Besides half the ideas in the ride seem half thought out at best. I don't know maybe it is sour grapes... Although truth be told I would KILL for a Sky Captain ride...
disneygurlz2s
Does it strike anyone else that Paramount seems to like pimping their movies that just royally suck with rides and the like. In a word, um.... YES! Ok, here's the thing... I grew up with Kings Island being Kings Island. It was a great park... classic rides, good entertainment, and a little thing called Winterfest that brings a tear to my eye when I think about it. Then, Paramount came in, and tried, lamely, to imitate Disney, but, well... they ain't Disney. Plus, I am just sour grapes that with all the land they own and haven't developed, they had to take down two family rides that hold a lot of memories for me, to put up this ride. disneygurlz2s
Beg Pardon? Hell section? I didn't say it, I was just agreeing (out of bitterness caused by the removal of the antique autos AND the eagle flyers) Are you a Delirium fan, or park employee?? I finally got to ride that this summer and just loved it! CoasterCanada
Hey PKIDelirium... I guess you dont know where the HELL section is at PKI. Its an area that is behind the Tower. Go there this year & I'm sure you'll understand what Im talking about.
robbalvey
Just in some new photos from PKI's Italian Job. Check them out! It would be the "Italian Job" without some police cars. Look ma! It's a helicoptor! This is the view from the entrance. PKI is still hard at work on the getting the ride ready for opening. This will end up being the "Warehouse" scene. Here is a shot of the train. Here is the "Splashdown" section of the ride. The parking garage houses an insane looking helix!
Mr.Six
Wow! Those are some great new photos! Dude, those new cars look so frickin sweet! Michael " The DLR should add some of those on Autopia's track!!" Thomas
socalMAN123
Nice pics! Mr. Six, your right, they do need to put those cars on Autopia.
NitroJoeC
How cool is it that the car *doors* will have to open for you to get in? I am *loving* the new Premier rides, and we haven't seen the last of 'em yet. Joe "2006, baby!" C.
Mr. Volcano
Im fairly excited about this, just hope its open when I go. I think the mini cooper cars are cute, they're detailed but not as highly as I thought they would be. I can definately see those things using the same premier lap restraints, but thats going to be one crowded mess getting into those cars. (Are the doors on there? I cant really tell, I know that the ride is suppose to be so realistic that youll have to open and close doors to get in from what I hear). The track layout is turning out better too, too bad the coloring selection of the coaster isn't very unique, its something you would see in an enclosed ride, like RnR or Space Mountain. -Justin
NitroJoeC
^It's supposed to be like asphalt. I think it works really well since it's not really all about the ride "track" as it is about the ride experience (focusing on the scenes and such). Joe "maybe a small yellow stripe down the middle would be cool though" C.

Joe "maybe a small yellow stripe down the middle would be cool though" C. Thats true, I guess I didn't really think about the ride being on a road or asphalt, that matches the theme pretty good, and im sure it might turn out well when its all complete. Do you know for sure if they will do any effects to the track like CP did for dragster to make it feel faster? I was wondering if they may paint the ties holding the rails, but realized if they would have done that, it would have been shipped that way. I just thought from Yours and Keith's video, that the track might have kindof a color scheme like yellow and white to it. (but sometimes promotional videos use different colors showing the ride before its built, I learned that when BGT did the video for SheiKra). -Justin
NitroJoeC
Heh, well it's not my video, Keith did everything. I just get to share the bed with him. The park originally was going to have it painted yellow, but after seeing how bright and attention grabbing it was on the ride animation, they decided to go the route of ash gray - a very wise choice, I say. Bubba Z
I'm surprised they have two red cars, shouldn't one of them be white like in the movie?
Scaparri
OK, these definately make me more excited about this coaster. I'll be honest, when this ride was announced, I was a little bummed. Then I saw the video on the PKI website and that excited me a little bit more. These pictures pretty much made me determine that I HAVE to make a visit ti PKI this year. This thing is definately looking pretty cool.
SharkTums
^See that's what's cool and weird about all of us in the coaster community...seeing those pictures made me confident in my decision not to bother with PKI this year!
