Maybe they will find a way to construct this literally as slow as possible so they could have the usual memorial day opening? Jokes aside, im really interested to see how this ride turns out.

The park opens next Saturday - the 24th. The website says late spring opening, so probably around Memorial Day. I will be at the park a few time before then, I will post any updates and pics from my visits.

They are in the construction phase now. This kind of ride doesn't take that long to build, so I expect to see it completed soon.

Why do I still have a donkey title???

Yeah, it shouldn't take long at all. I'm so excited that we'll have one of these in the states. I think another visit to Texas is in order!

Even though this is a flat ride, I still cannot see Six Flags opening it before Memorial Day. That’s just how they roll.

I have a Six Flags pass with food and parking, and I found some reasonable Frontier flights to DFW sometime in May or June, so I may visit this park if timing works out with school and work. After looking at Google Maps, it seems to airport is very close to the park, so Uber should be fairly cheap as well. It’s a possibility!

Anyone have any recommendations for cheap hotels near the park / airport?

We love the Holiday Inn Arlington NE-Rangers Ballpark. Great hotel, and great location. Never had a bad experience, and we stay there probably 10+ times a year.

Nope. But we will be there next month!! Can't wait to get some New Texas Giant in my life!! I'm also interested to see what my partner thinks of Joker... I was NOT a big fan of the one at Great Adventure... But hoping that I'll grow to like the ride. It seems like it could be fun.. But it was just so damn uncomfortable...

I'm thinking about going out for awhile on Sunday afternoon. This run of really crappy weather looks like it will end on Saturday.

I've heard that the old Harley Quinn themed troika is being replaced with a food stand selling chicken tenders or some other variety of fried chicken. The arcade across from Mine Train was torn down and is being replaced with a sports bar similar to the one in the Mexico section.

I Love Donkeys!

I am! I'm planing on being there on Saturday, and then driving down to San Antonio Saturday night, and doing Fiesta Texas on Sunday.

This week is my first trip to Texas ever, which is crazy. My home park is SFoG, so I'm interested in seeing how these are different and same.

I'm traveling alone, so I would love to meet some TPR folks! ;)

Side-note... I got in to Arlington on Monday afternoon. I'm an Atlantan, and I'm noticing your weather is as schizophrenic as ours is! Ha! I mean, yikes, for real!
