  1. I feel like we could see B&M as the renewed relationship. Very strictly speaking since we didn't get a coaster from them last year bringing them back would constituents a "renewed relationship". Also, their work on Patriot would fit as recent history with CF. It would make a lot of sense having B&M on a project, especially since theyve done great work for CF in the past. Personally, I think seeing a hyper at CGA and something brand new at Knotts wouldn't be too crazy. While CF doesn't have an unlimited budget, the hyper at CGA would be a great way to kick off the master plan, and as the only attraction we've seen consistently through all plan documents it wouldn't be too crazy. Plus after taking a look at the area myself and checking the position of the possible impulse coaster they just don't quite line up. We've only seen markers in the invertigarden and when you look at the plan document, the impulse would never even cross though it but instead right behind it and through a building and the 3-point basketball game that exist there already. It would make more sense to see a station for a hyper, maybe even following a layout that has nothing to do with the picture itself. Call me crazy but I just can't see the park putting in an impulse, especially in that spot. As for Knotts I'd love to see a brand new type of coaster. It would be a great addition for a park with quite a few unique attractions. A raptor would certainly be a cool ride to add, although as mentioned we could see problems as far as capacity. No matter what happens the future is definitely looking bright for CF EDIT: I meant we didn't get a B&M this year, whoops
  2. Although we've seen this image before, I was able to find a new, less blurry picture of the proposed master plan with rides added, and there were a few new things I noticed. For example, there appears to be an impulse coaster in the area near the invertigarden, and also the removal of Woodstock express for a water slide expansion. The image shows a little more of the park, but it is still cut off well before drop tower and grizzly.
  3. Does anyone know if the vouchers are still available for the passholder preview night?
  4. ^as much as I'd like to have a free spin so close to me (I'm a sucker for 4D coasters, including Green Lantern ), the park really does need family rides. They have some big holes in their lineup and while adding thrill rides is great, putting a small coaster or ride to bridge the gap between Cobra and Boomerang. It would really help the people who are trying to work up to bigger rides.
  5. Looking great! And to add to the hype, it was asked during the ACE tour if the ride will get a station roof/cover, and the park confirmed it (unfortunately I don't remember who it was by or where is was posted, so I can't give credit). It's nice to see the park doing this, the Vortex station in particular was unbearable on hot days. Hopefully we will see more investments like this with the expansion
  6. Where did you hear it was getting a sit down train? All I knew about were the supports getting painted yellow.
  7. I have a weird one in Kong at SFDK. For some reason it's always given me smoothish rides and since the restraint modification it's gotten even better. And while I know it doesn't give phenomenal rides I always end up riding it multiple times each visit. It's just fun to me. Also, X2 is frickin amazing. It's gotten to the point where every single time I hear Enter Sandman I start daydreaming about it.
  8. The new website went up today, it looks nice. They also are incorporating the drink plan and season fast lane that other cedar fair parks are. The season fast lane seems very cheap too, only $89. It might be worth checking out.
  9. ^I was actually at the park yesterday as well, and I did manage to snap a few pics as we drove by through the the parking lot (sorry for the horrible quality though). I noticed on one of the sections of the main pendulum there looked to be lights but I could easily be mistaken. Other than the previously mentioned dirt piles, I also saw some markings in the ground on the walk back to the parking lot where they appear to be moving the fence back a bit to make room for one of the ride's legs. However, I didn't manage to get any pictures of them. My friend and I also decided to check out Galactic Attack on Kong, and we had a very interesting experience. We ended up riding it 3 times, because twice my friend's headset malfunctioned and showed two ships in an idle animation throughout the ride. I didn't experience anything like that, and I actually very much enjoyed the VR. The mixed reality was really cool and the actual ride was very well done (Kong was also running very well, so that did help too). That being said I wouldn't have ridden it again unless I experienced problems the first time or there was no line. With one train VR operations, the dispatch times were slow and help a line for the ride, even though almost everything else in the park was a walk-on (excluding joker, towards the end of the day they took off the green train and it built up a 5-10 minute line). Hopefully they add at least a second train to cut down dispatch time a little.
  10. Apparently a test or pull-through of the front cars was done a few days ago from the posts on the park's social media... The trains are looking absolutely fantastic. I did notice something interesting looking at all of the posts about Patriot in that they never have showed the station in posts since its demolition, maybe I'm insane but is it possible that they could surprise us with a station roof? I know the odds are probably against it but a man can dream
  11. I like the idea of mixed reality, I think it's a cool idea. However, it doesn't make me want to wait in line for hours on end to ride an SLC. One issue I see is that there's only one camera on the phones, so the environment won't be in true 3D on the lift. This shouldn't be a big problem but it might make the transition from AR to VR, and possibly the entirety of the lift, a bit disorienting. I'm interested to see how this will turn out.
  12. While it is by no means super accurate, I combined the blurry image from the slideshow and the crisp picture outlining the marketplace and highlighted some key elements to make it easier to see. I took particular care on the the skyride as well as the possible hyper coaster and as you can see they are separated by a passable amount. Another thing I did happen to notice though was that in the top-right corner, Woodstock Express is overlayed on top of what appears to be a slide tower. I'm wondering if we could see its removal as part of the expansion
  13. One thing I do like about the new style trains is the feeling of more openness and freedom of the staggered seats compared to the 4-in-row seats. However, I don't have any real preference. I personally believe that if the coaster is built, they will use the new style, but only because the other Cedar Fair B&M hypers do and it may be easier to just be consistent across parks. It will be interesting to see what they do
  14. I can only imagine how cool it would be to take the skyride with a massive B&M rushing past you. It would certainly be a sight to see. I'm really hoping that this dream will come true, this park deserves a big coaster. I'm assuming it will be one of the earlier additions to the expansion (hopefully between 2018-2020), as it was one of the first additions we heard of, but even if it takes a while to get here it would be a fantastic fit for CGA.
  15. ^personally, (being quite a big fan of V2 myself), I'd much rather see them put it where the go-kart track is, as many have speculated, but I do see the possibility of a V2 removal happening. On most days the ride hardly has a line, and a free spin would fit quite nicely in its place. On the other hand it is a very unique ride, the launch isn't spectacular but is certainly more powerful than Suoerman's, plus the vertical spike is quite fun, especially in the back row
