  1. Got to go the park the other day for a couple hours to see a few of the new attractions, didn't get a chance to see Pop or Sea Lions tonight but did the other new stuff. Kraken Unleashed: Awesome. I've never been on a VR coaster before but it was amazing, the movie was gorgeous and synced up great to the coaster. Went up earlier in the day to grab a return ticket, then when we came back we only had to wait in the line for 15 minutes which was awesome. They did run out of return tickets later in the day so its smart to either go get one first thing or use the spotsaver website once you get into the park to make sure you get a ride Dolphin Nursery: Way better than the old one, they have cool underwater viewing areas and little portholes you can sit in, and the baby dolphins where coming over and checking everybody out and the whole area just looked way nicer Ignite/electric ocean: I think everyone needs to check this show out this summer. It was really cool how they let you stand on the stage at bayside stadium to watch the show if you want and its the best place to do it from, there is loads of fountains, lasers, lights, fireworks and fire and if you stand on the front of the stage are pretty much surrounded by everything so its super immersive. The music was good and the dancers and acrobats in the area before Ignite started were awesome to watch, and they were really good at interacting and engaging with the guests
  2. Kraken has closed for its transportmation into Kraken Unleashed, which opens June 16. They just posted a facebook live about it and showed us behinds the scenes - here is the link The gist is: - Old Kraken sculpture leaving - Old Theming in Queue leaving -New "3D Objects" essentially new kraken/queue theming -Queue will have videos instructing riders on how to put on the headsets -Queue will be themed after a sea base -One of the trains is already converted to VR (Screencap below) Kraken VR Train
  3. I'm hearing that Sand Serpent will be enclosed by sometime in 2018, possibly with a 3d/dark ride theming as well. I hear its supposed to re-open sometime this summer before being closed again to start the enclosure process. Reasoning for this change is supposovedly that BGT is realizing that they don't have any rides (besides bumper cars) that you can ride during bad weather so that is supposed to be something that they are trying to do more of in the coming years. Sand serpent closed for any rain whereas the other coaster only closed for lightning, (as well as a small footprint) so they get the most additional up time per dollar by hosing to enclose sand serpant
  4. Good news, the Jambo Junction area of the park is set to re-open this spring under the new name "Animal Connections". Apparently there will be less animals in the area than before (and the staff that was fired isn't coming back) but they decided to not get rid of the area completely after further analysis and public feedback
  5. Shows Update: Some fairly major changes in show offerings at BGT include: Rock-a-Doo-Wop has replaced Treasures of the Mirage in the Dragon Fire Grill, and you can see it now if you visit the park. Iceploration will be coming to a close with the last show occurring in April. The park has said a new show will start there in the Moroccan Palace this summer. The rumors that I have heard state that they will still be having Ice skating shows, but that they will change more frequently and be almost seasonal shows, sort of like what they have been doing by putting on a Christmas Ice show in during Christmastown Wild Life Docs Live, I have heard that this show, that was supposed to start this year in the Stanleyville theater has been canceled, I haven't heard why. In other news, keep your eyes on the Australian section of the park in the next few years
  6. So it has been announced that Donnie Mills, the park President of the Orlando SEA parks is retiring, and Jim Dean, the President of the Tampa SEA parks will replace him and Stewart Clark, who was the Vice President of Discovery cove will replace Jim Dean in Tampa. This is an interesting move, as Jim Dean has been fairly successful as Busch Gardens never really felt the effects of Blackfish and Adventure Island recently had its best summer in history. However, he is known to be less animal focused. Stewart Clark, is very likable and is said to value the animal side of the parks highly, as can be expected from his time at Discovery Cove. It will be interesting to see what direction the parks move in under this new leadership.

  8. I would expect it to be very busy. They change the prices of things such as quick queue so they are more expensive on days they are expecting to be super busy.
  9. Haha fair enough. I would be surprised if there wasn't healthy skepticism towards what I've said, considering I have no credibility. However I do have a decent amount of information so I figured this board would be interested, and if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them. Hopefully when announcements are made depending on what they are you'll be able to look back and decide if I am credible or not. Until then I'm glad to have joined the forum!
  10. This information is a combination of what I have heard from a friend of mine that works at the company, what I have heard at the different media day events that they have been having recently as well as a little guesswork to pull those snippets of information together.
  11. Busch Gardens News and Updates: Jambo Junction: Closed as of Dec. 6th, unlikely to ever reopen. SEA slashed the animal ambassador programs across all of the parks, with lots of layoffs in this department. Julie Scardina who is the corporate face of this program "retired" within this past month, and it can be assumed with the shear number of layoffs and closures to animal ambassador programs throughout SEAs that the company is attempting to end the animal ambassador program for good. As stated above the only way to save this program would be to write comments to the park, as a lot of the parks decisions are basd on the feedback that it recie Hotel Project: The park now has a concrete plan for a hotel, I would expect an announcement on this fairly soon. 2017: Off year for the park, just the new wildlife docs live show in the stanleyville theater. 2018 and 2019: Expect a new attract for each of these years, with 2019 being a larger attraction. One of these attractions will go on the site of Tidal wave, and the park looks to revitalize the Stanleyville area of the park with this. Bird gardens is the the other location, probably where the larger attraction will go, Jim Dean has stated that this area of the park needs attention and intends on revitalizing it. Gwazi: Gwazi will be coming down, I would expect this next year and will likely make way for part of the new birdgardens project. No RMC. HOS 2017: Expect a new element for 2017 as the park tries to stay relevant with increased competition. The park has also seemed frustrated with how the theme was implemented this year, as it was not present at all in the actual event.
  12. Apparently BGT is getting a new show in 2017, called Wildlife Docs Live, and will be themed after their TV show Wildlife docs. I've heard a rumor that the animals in the show will be done by Joel Slaven, the same company that does Opening Night Critters and the other pet shows at SEAs parks, and that one of the animals in the show will be a sloth. RMC of Gwazi would be awesome but every time I hear someone from BGT talk about Gwazi they always sound like they haven't decided what to do with it yet so I would be very surprised if they had track on site for it already. I predict that the next major attraction at BGT will be in 2018, but there are other projects that the park needs to get done, like tearing down Tidal Wave and Gwazi, and perhaps finally replacing the defunct Rhino Rally with the long rumored elephant habitat expansion.
