  1. You do know that Dollywood's name for the parade is not any where near the same as Disney's "Mainstreet Electrical Parade". Has no similarity in the name whatsoever...
  2. You do still need to pay for each individual person though. And Dollywood's timesaver is very useful for reserving seats for the shows as well. And IMHO, very reasonable in comparison to other parks FoL devices. Thanks Guy for the extra input. Forgot that part!!!
  3. Really anytime for the mountain coasters is a good time, but you may want to contact them for more information. Timesavers at Dollywood are a real gem, especially if the park is busy. Here's how to gauge that: if you have to park in D through H parking then a Timesaver is highly recommended on Saturdays because it tends to get quite busy. As a warning though, Lightning Rod does not offer the Timesaver pass for this year so you will have to wait in line for that one. It will be incorporated either later this year or at the beginning of the next season. Glad you're coming to see us at Dollywood! See you soon! PS: You can put up to 8 people on one device. Therefore, one is good for two people!
  4. And injuries should not be apart of that equation. Disney will not in any means help anyone with restraints and definitely do not touch them to check if they're locked for fear of the same problems. This is why at every coaster there are test seats and many many signs posted around the seats and the entrance of the rides themselves encouraging guests of larger stature to try the test seat. Otherwise, Dollywood does not want to ruin the experience by injuring their guests, which in turn would cause them to cut their vacations short and I shall repeat that ALL rides at the park are not allowed to help push down restraints whether you choose to believe those who work there or not. It doesn't change the fact that this can and will cause injuries and will ruin the "Creating Memories Worth Repeating" doctrine of the park more so than it would be if we were to suggest another ride like row 4 on Wild Eagle or Tennessee Tornado.
  5. The op's will assist you in locking your restraints on all other coasters and Barnstormer, LR is the only exception. My ride buddy is of a larger size, he doesn't fit on Mystery Mine, but get's squeezed in on the others by the op's. I do it for him on LR, the whole reason i was pondering why they don't in the first place. To ALL references of pushing down restraints. No the ops are not allowed and therefore shouldn't be doing so. If you do please let another host know so that the issue can be resolved. The refusal to push down on restraints expands to all, ALL, rides at Dollywood and it is due to possible injuries that may occur to the host or more importantly the guests. It has happened before. This is why they shouldn't by any means be helping by pushing on the restraints. This is also why there are test seats, especially outside Lightning Rod as the seats are temperamental with whom it is able to accommodate. Please use all the resources given so that issues do not arise after waiting in long lines. Thank you enthusiasts and Dollywood lovers alike. Hope to see you at the park soon!!!
  6. DW is nice but I agree that IMO it's overpriced (perhaps purposely). Admission is $74 with taxes/fees for an adult, or $86 with parking (parking fees are just another part of the admission cost). And this doesn't include the water park. There's just not enough there, IMO, for $74/$86. But obviously they can get away with it since it's usually very crowded. Tourists are already in the area, so they're going to go to DW regardless of price (up to a point of course). Holiday World is $45 and includes the themepark and waterpark, plus free parking, soft drinks, and sunscreen. Even Cedar Point is only $52.79 with tax/fee right now (plus $15/$18 parking). Heck, even the expensive/overpriced Disney World ends up $86.53 per day with tax if you buy a 4 day ticket, but that includes going to a separate themepark each day. Plus $20/day parking. Seaworld Orlando's one day ticket is only $5 more than Dollywood. And Seaworld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa's two-park ticket is the same price as Dollywood's; both $99. And SWO/BGT's gives you four parks to choose from (two themeparks, two water parks). Or a three day/park ticket is only $109. I don't know where you got the Disney ticket price information but a four day park ticket at Disney is well over one hundred dollars per person. Not $86. And Ticket prices at Dollywood Main Entrance are $65 and parking is $10. Spreading misinformation is defamation and can possibly get you into trouble on this website. Here's the ticket information for your enjoyment... http://www.dollywood.com/Tickets/buy-tickets
  7. Deleted post... Speculation for any circumstances as to why or what a park's information is false or not is strictly uncalled for. No one knows what was said and Dollywood is doing the best they can to be open without breaking confidentiality for the company whom they contracted out to build the ride. Only those closest to the source will know what the order to cease operation said.
  8. The statement and information both given to Dollywood and Kolmarden were very recent and are just recalls. Recalls on a certain part and request to close RMCs are made by the company and it is the parks duty to follow through with said request. If anything happens at a park that has an RMC present does not follow through with the recall, it falls on the park and not the ride manufacturer. Same goes for a vehicle recall. Once the recall and request has been issued it is the responsibility of the owner to follow the suggestions of the manufacturer and get it fixed. Otherwise the fault does not fall on the manufacturer. The request was given out within the last 48 hours so it is up to all RMC owners to follow through. Yes the recall was for all coasters from the manufacturer and it is the responsibility of the park or parks to follow through with said request. If the park(s) decide it isn't worth worrying over and closing a ride over a possible defect that may or may not exist then they won't, if they are extremely careful sans Dollywood and Kolmarden, then they will close or delay a ride. The recall is not an order to close all rides but a request put out by the manufacturer (RMC). Better safe than sorry.
  9. Sorry for any inconvenience the closures and testings have caused any of you however, to clear things up, there was never a train ran half full today. Empty trains yes but none with people. Hope everyone enjoys their holiday weekend!!!
