  1. That single rider thing is defiantly not true the rides I work at don't have it and anyone that comes up we are told to say no by management. And as for TC's single rider line the main problem that they have is that everyone will wanna go for it after they see so much as a hour and a half wait time ( the ride I work at they ask about single rider lines for a 10 min wait) so then you have the problem of a long line for that and the hall to access is it very narrow and they still need to get VIP and flash pass on (witch is priority) thro the same hall and entrance and then the ADA pass guests( witch is also priority) and most of them are in wheel chairs and scooters. It would be a huge blocking problem. Especially for ADA wheelchairs and that same entrance is a exit for wheelchairs. And there isn't really a switchback for SR its just a large empty space. It will open up just not soon being how popular the ride is at this point and that they need to clear that part for wheelchairs. Think of it like batman. batmans exit is where multiple wheelchairs also have to access and exit then you have all those people trying to exit the ride at the same time and its a narrow path. Its the same idea but reverse. And a lot more people...
  2. The racing aspect of the ride is going to depend on the people getting off and on the ride. The harnesses are a little hard to lift to get out. Its actually just under 1 minute dispatch times to get it to race. (I think its faster then rmc and sfmm originally thought going through the track). So don't expect it to race to often. People like to go on rides with there bags and go pros and then lock them selfs in so they have to unlock and recheck witch is what's going to kill it. Also judging from the employee night it looks like this ride is not going to be friendly to larger rides. I saw a lot of people that could fit on full throttle and other rides that simply could not fit on the ride not height wise but horizontally and longitudinally. the seats are extremely snug. But very comfy. I'm 5.9 and 170 pounds and I felt like the seats was hugging me tighter then all the other coasters in the park. The coaster was amazing never the less even if it doesn't race. I Didn't care. It was incredible.
  3. Both trains did race. They sent one and then the other one and they raced. That was all they did. They checked to make sure everything is working properly. Also on that small video notice how the old track under the drop is painted white too. That's pretty cool. Its was super quiet and smooth too. Everyone is gonna love it. And yes 4th train is happening for sure. Not sure when it arrives tho.
  4. Why is everyone forgetting that they need to still finish the area around twisted colossus. That ride will be finished way before the scream punk district and last time I looked its quite a bit that still needs to be done around there.
  5. The 4th is only a spare the way the system is laid out it can only monitor up to 3 trains at a time. There's only 2 holding areas directly before the station and then its station that is the 3rd holding area. The other break areas after station and the one before 2nd lift could hold the train but to bring it in to the maintenance bay it would have to cycle track. Witch isn't ideal. No room for a 4th. If it was designed for 4 there would be a longer break area on the green side. Anyways they want to run 3 at all times and more then I even heard that if there's only 2 trains available they wont run it... witch most likely means they will shut it down when it rains. 2 trains will actually be the minimum for this ride for some cases.
  6. I'm just curious who exactly decides on the color scheme for the coasters.......curious if that persons favorite color is orange? lol I think there's a lot of reused paint but then again if you think about it its kinda hard to make a paint scheme work on those rides. theres not much that will look good over time so sticking to same shades of colors is pretty much the way to go. Look at screams old paint. Didn't take long to look crappy. But tautsu and riddles revenge is still good. But I'm pretty sure it one of the executives that come up with it I have no idea tho. Its at least done in house from what I understand. Originally I thought scream was gonna be silver supports and crimson red track but I was way off. They where doing testers with silver tho. It was actually not bad.
  7. Welcome to the website. I admit I too was looking at the site for a year daily before I decided to register. I'm curious how long you have worked there and based on that when is the best time to go? How was Superbowl Sunday? How much time is spent opening the rides? (Turning on testing ect.) How often do people use the VIP program? My first day actually working was on colossus on the 16th of August. As of right now I don't know to much about how busy the spring season is but my best bet is Wednesday and some Sundays. Today wasn't that packed. At least where I was. Superbowl Sunday was dead if I remember correctly. not as much time for us as you think. Like 20 mins to do block check depending on the ride. But maintenance goes in way before we do and from what I understand they check a lot. I see VIP at least 3 times a day. Its a lot more popular then what I thought originally. I pretty much know everyone in the VIP department lol. That's how often I see them bringing people in.
  8. Just be careful what you say and post. Management actually does pay attention to this forum and if you give out information they will find out. Just a heads up. Otherwise, welcome and glad to see a fellow Magic Mountain worker. I'm aware what I can and can't say. Not much I can spill anyways that I know to much about.
  9. I'm new here but I read this often. I actually come here so see what people think about the park. I work at sfmm in the ride ops sector. I know I'm not suppose to leak information about the park but there's not much to leak with my knowledge anyways there aren't a lot of secrets its pretty straight forward. I can help give an inside perspective and talk about some ride closers and openings and explain how the park operates from a ride op perspective. so if you have any questions ill be happy to answer them. There are a lot of misconceptions about the park. Some things you may not realize is not up to the sfmm management. Like the TC construction. I'm not here to stick up for the park or talk trash. Let me know what you wanna know.
