  1. Is the removal (of Colossos) or any main reworking (Rmc style) really on the table? I dont think so. As i see that from past visits (about 2 or more per year) some more serious work needed, but removal, really? This post i caught somewhere in early time of continuous shutdown of ride.. (in german): https://www.kreiszeitung.de/lokales/rotenburg/rotenburg-ort120515/colossos-erbauer-cordes-ueber-titel-weltbesten-holzachterbahn-4592661.html Any opinion after reading?
  2. Thanks for report, I am heading for Liseberg in near future so it was helpfull for me, you have nice counts at the end, similar like I usually do. Now to the Balder, i am soo looking forward to ride that one but i have to say.. Colossos in Heide Park is one of my favorite ride and i rode it about week ago ( around 1.5.) several times (again like last five years i do more than one visit a year). I do not feel that one so rough, althrough it can be felt more intense if you are sitting above the wheels (1+3 row per car) and it is true that i rode mostly in the middle. I am very sensitive for roughness so in same park Limit+BigLoop is one ride per visit and done, so by that i am looking forward to ride Balder if it is better in mean of smooth ride than Colossos.
  3. Both types of track switch work for me, just two platforms from/to one circuit track was the point, so far good answers, thank you for help. I am making a bit of notes. Other facts are a lot easier to find
  4. I was wondering about this. Which one was the first roller coaster build with double station platforms leading from/and to single track circuit?? ("Y" Switch before and after station). I mean thing like King Da Ka, Tatsu or Batwing (at Six Flags America) has, obviously created to keep up with capacity of track when loading/unloading itself took longer than ride.
  5. Hallo to all, at first, i do agree with most posts before, and i will bring here little bit of european breeze. I mostly appreciate out and back layouts (if we are talking layouts), but that is so simple said and also hills only, so better way for me, is when ride includes some straightly made elements or heading somewhere for a while, and actions happens on few places from different parts of ride (track does meet other track near). Spagheti bowls like Joker Jinx etc looks nice but for me is not desired coaster so much (althrough i like those). So lets mention here: Blue Fire (Europa Park - Germany), and Helix (Liseberg - Sweden) and newly Taron at Phantasialand (there are at least three parallels, and still is bendy a lot), what do you think?
  6. I would not see Kumba/Drachen and CheetahH/Verbolten as a sister to each other.., only as a (ment) slot for ride to count, ok, but by kind or anything else...not really for me.
  7. Don't take the last one for maintenance so obvious, usualy plans in this way misses and we are standing in line for longer time while two of the trains on duty slowly eats the queue. Phantasialand can get easily crowded.
  8. 20.9.2015 - Silver Bullet / Knotts Berry Farm (West coast park run trip, travelling from Europe) Silver Bullet, KBF
  9. Great report, thanks a lot, what was queue times? I am not sure, if you have been to Europa Park, Can you compare smoothness of Helix and BlueFire (Krake?), I am going soon to Liseberg, still delayed, this is last serious park I am missing in my collection from mid/west europe.
  10. Great review, i am almost local (CZ-Prague), and EuropaPark is my Alma Mater, SilverStar first serious coaster i rode about 8yrs ago, agree with all things here, i go there at least twice per year for two days at minimum. Great park for family, satisfying for thrill seekers.Blue Fire is my favorite perform of launch (no cable, very comfy seats and restrains, with no shoulder direct hold, and smooth ride all the way, second most smoth ride from all world parks i ever been, including US east coast, sorry Griffon; [first is Krake from Heide btw]) Next expand will be all-season indoor watter park which Mack family (running the park) dreamed for a lot of time, sadly for me, i am coaster type guest. We are still waiting there for one simple thing and other bigger. Its the FreeFall tower of any kind, and something really big since silver star is not world class, maybe with the new expansion they will be conquer already promised land next to park which in this case is not problem to get. (not like in case of Phantasialand, also great park about 300km north, where they have serious problems to expand to new land, as a one from most dense, but still great, parks).
  11. thanks, thats what i ment, filled my knowledge hole They did place their cars to another builder company ride? interesting. Actually, i like their restrains and seat type probably most of all (after those i like Mack BlueFire/Helix type.. which allows inversions, but does not have overhead holding)
  12. Simple question, does anybody know, if BM did any coaster where is only two persons in one row ?? (V shape seat cars like Diamondback, Shambhala does not count).
  13. Once again, I suppose the definition is interpreted differently by different people. For me, it's simple: 0 G = weightlessness <0 G = airtime That's it. totaly agree , my opinion is when X is the "felt" force to you, then i am calling that: -X = negative Gs X = 0 ...weightlessness (like zero G roll ) 1>X>0 ...air time
  14. Background story: We are going for fist time to USA, half world travel, cost me (us) about a year saving, mainly of reason to ride some of best rides on planet. We are going to 6F:Great Adventure -> 6F:America -> Kings Dominion-> BuschGardens:Williamsburg. Each park Two days, because it will be probably only once in life chance in those parks, we decided to max it out by any fast lane /qq/flash options, obviously nobody want after that-like travell and spent time waiting in lines. Question: When is usual time when those parks start to offer a fast lane online? For example, we have already bought all needed for Busch Gardens (including QQ tickets extension), but anything availableyet for Great Adventure where arent even usual tickets, and only entry tickets but not FlashPass for 6F:america.
