  1. Why extend hours as that costs money with having to have more CM's working. They just gutted the equity actors and pretty much all entertainment in the parks for a reason. They are in cost cutting mode at this moment. Expect some cupcakes and new merch for the 50th.
  2. I know that the resorts are open. Universal is closing a couple next week and Disney has delayed opening more do the increase isn't from resort stays. Maybe it is locals then.
  3. That still doesn't explain why parks like Cedar Point and Kings Island aren't seeing the same thing. From all reports I have seen they have been very quiet.
  4. I'm shocked at how busy Universal and Disney have been the past few weekends. The reason is that the majority of other parks across the US that are open can't even get close to capacity. Where are all these people coming from? They definitely aren't resort guests as they have closed or delayed opening resorts.
  5. I have always wondered why some parks see a boost in attendance from new coasters and other parks don't. Canada's Wonderland had a big boost from Yukon Striker and Six Flags Great America saw next no boost from Maxx Force.
  6. No they shouldn't do that right now. With cases rising parks are the last thing that should open. After watching videos from Indiana Beach people obviously can't follow social distancing.
  7. I don't mind having to wear masks at a park, I just want to go to one now. What I find funny is on this board most are ok with masks at parks. If you go to any Disney board they are all up in arms over it.
  8. https://www.micechat.com/258485-breaking-news-san-diego-theme-parks-devise-reopening-plans/ I'm surprised no has talked about this. Could this be a sign of what most parks will put in place? Guests are required to wear masks and have temp taken.
  9. I live 3-4 hours away from CP so using the tickets and getting the gold pass isnt worth it. Only way itd be worth it would be for CP to credit me the single day tickets towards a gold pass. Then id basically be getting tickets for the following year for $54 (assuming they open this summer) I live 4 hours away and in Canada, I manage to go multiple times a season. Im in Buffalo so youre not far. Pick me up on your way lol. While youre at it cover my work shift, pay for my hotel and for my families food and drink. Oh, and watch my dogs! The reason I can go so often is I get 4 weeks vacation a year. I use 3 of them in summer and I have gone for a weekend a couple of times too. I leave at 5am Friday and come home Sunday morning.

  11. Here in Canada its doubtful that any parks open. They expect the restrictions they have in place to last til summer sometime. Then they plan on lifting some of them with parks being last on the list. They expect some sort of social distancing to last til there is a vaccine.
  12. Yeah it's a family event, which is why the low amount of adult rides. From what I have heard, the first weekend has been crazy busy. BTW skating is free. Winterfest is not aimed at enthusiasts, its a family friendly version of the. Christmas market in the distillery district. Is it $10 to reserve an ice time, or is it always free? I got the $10 information from Amusement Insiders, which is no surprise as they generally give out incorrect information. At first, I thought Winterfest was just an easy money grab, but it really does look nice. My family might go a couple of times just to look around, but I think we are going to try to hold onto our wallets, just like at the Toronto Christmas Market where you can pay $15 for a grilled cheese. The skating is only $10 if you want to reserve ahead of time. I was there last weekend and thought it was well worth it, especially if you have a gold pass.

  14. I have only one con to this merger if it happens and that is the Six Flags love of 1 train ops. The biggest pro for me is how Six Flags does their passes. The fact they advertise all their parks and give better perks for their higher level passes. Cedar Fair would do better if they advertised their Platinum pass more.
  15. Its extra busy cause of it being the second last weekend before school starts. They still need to find a way to draw people to the park during the week.
