  1. 2 weeks ago when I was in Colombia visiting the family, I went on a bus to return home. The roads there are crap and the suspension on the buses are terrible, and it doesn't help that they drive like mad over there. Anyway, the bus i was on was going over a bridge which had some bumps and cracks on a section where it seemed as if they were too lazy to fill the gap where they put it in as sections when building it. The driver was going quick, and as soon as we reached the gap, the back of the bus flung into the air. I was sitting in the back so that didn't help matters. I was in mid air for a good 1.5 seconds and as soon as my backside hit the plastic chairs we were sitting on, it made a loud slap. I was surprised my back didn't hurt after that, but by far that was the most airtime I have experienced on public transport. Here's a video very similar to what i experienced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_4q5kzVAME
  2. The thing that comes to mind after seeing these photos is this recent post Vekoma posted on their facebook page about the next generation looping coaster. Though I wonder if they developed a new train design which will be the reasoning behind this test.
  3. In my opinion, I would have to say to go to germany. The parks here in the UK are good, but I don't feel that they are worth the journey. I myself hope to travel to germany for the parks there. But in the end, it is your opinion as to where to go.
  4. Well, unfortunately my dogs time has come. She passed away today at 3:15pm (UK time) after having a seizure. She was 13 going onto 14, so she was quite a old dog. Thanks for the happy memories Peggy you greedy dog.
  5. Here in the UK, Cathedral City (Cheddar) is the holy grail of cheeses. Well, in my opinion at least. Eating it solid isn't bad, but heating it up on some toast gives it a better taste and is quite filling. A image for good measure
  6. Quick question, is there a reason as to why Ferrari world have chosen their outdoor coasters to have white track rather than say red track, such as in portaventura?
  7. Some interesting and surprising news has appeared here in the UK. Bananaman, the hero with the strength of twenty men, and the brains of twenty mussels, is being turned into a musical. Its great to hear they are bringing a british hero to life, but I am still a bit irritated how no news what so ever has been released about the Bananaman movie which was meant to have been released last year. It hasn't been cancelled though, so that is some good news. If I remember correctly, more info about the musical is meant to be released on February 2nd. To those who don't know who Bananaman is, he is meant to be a hero who transforms from a boy called Eric Wimp after he eats a bananana. However, Bananaman isn't the brightest of heros. He is a parody of the superhero genre and also uses a lot of puns. http://www.bananamanlive.com/ And here is one of the cartoon series episodes which aired sometime in the 1980s. And if you want, you can watch all the 5 minute episodes as they have been posted officially on youtube for free. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qA4Uu_m2Kc
  8. Here is a thread which I started sometime ago which talks about negative gs in different places, so if you want to you can continue posting on the linked thread. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=62644
  9. I'm surprised this park isn't doing so well considering how close it is to Rome. Hopefully the park will make a good income next year as it does have potential to be something great.
  10. I had a look at the webcam and came across the car on the helix section. The design and colour looks interesting. But by curiosity, when is this ride meant to be open to the public?
  11. I remember that when Thorpe Park were realising info on their wing rider, they said that a loaded train weighs 12 tons. Since The Swarm has 7 rows, that will be roughly 1.71 tons for each car when loaded. Each person weighs 70.8 kg on average in Europe according to wiki, so times that by 4 which makes 283.2 kg. Turn that into tons, which is 0.31217456 (0.31 tons to keep it easy) and use that to minus from the total weight which comes to 1.4 tons per car, if my calculations are correct. Note: I am not a mathematician. Correct me if I am wrong.
  12. If I'm not mistaken, the reason for that shape on all the wing coasters so far, is due to the safety of the passengers as well as the vehicles being able to go around the track easily without any clashes with other sections of the cars.
