  1. To be fair, I don't think CaptainUnknown will fare well at the ren faire if he is dressed as a psycho clown but perhaps a fairy?
  2. Thank you, and I found a better route through Rialto where I have 22 & 18 min transfers plus I can stay the whole 10:30 am to 6 pm operating hours. I am just going to do it and if it fails, an expensive Uber ride. Oh well, I still have never been on Wonder Woman. Hope I am not missing much. I do enjoy "NOW OPEN! & Closed for Refurbishment".
  3. Metrolink is free on Monday, April 22nd for earth day. Does anyone know if local schools get this day off? I don't have any children to ask but don't want to visit the park on a school holiday. I have taken Metrolink twice to Knott's over the past two months and other than a slight delay, we arrived okay. Am I insane for wanting to try this next Monday? I will save maybe 1/2 ro 1 hour by driving but can't watch TV on my phone during that time, so I might as well take the train since it is free. I am worried about the 11 minute layover in LA on the way. It is fine if my Riverside to LA train is on time but if it is late, I am screwed and may not make the connection. OLD ROUTE DELETED versus driving each way
  4. If you watch Youtube and search for closed or abandoned amusement parks there are tons of them. They all seem to have the same things in common: 1. They were the next Walt Disney, 2. They underestimated the cost to build their park by at least one-half, 3. They overestimated the attendance by quite a bit, 4. They had no extra funds when things went wrong, and 5. The failure was always something or someone else’s fault. I am not sure about this one but I am sure there will be a video soon with many of these factors being an issue. Don’t even get me started about friends that thought they were good cooks so they should open a restaurant “According to the National Amusement Park Historical Association, there are approximately 1,000 defunct amusement parks in North America, with a significant number being in the United States.[1]”
  5. If you live in So Cal and watch the news, it is just bad news every day. I don't like to go into LA any more and don't even think about going down to Venice / anta Monica to ride bikes like we used to. Most friends and family I know carry a concealed firearms everywhere you go. I would call it more fact than projecting.
  6. I don't like to speculate in garbage but sometimes if the rumors spell doom, it is better to visit one last time and remember it; than forget to visit and feel lost out. This is a long article so I can't summarize it but the Las Vegas monorail is likely on its way out within the next 5 to 10 years. Also why Disneyworld likely has not extended their lines in the future. Apparently the track width has been discontinued and Bombardier is out of the monorail business. https://www.casino.org/news/end-of-the-line-for-las-vegas-monorail/
  7. I wonder who is most excited in this photo? The puzzled looking service pug, Whittles with Boysenberry jam on his beard, or mommy who got a picture of baby with Whittles.
  8. I watched Looney Tunes evey Saturday morning in the 1970s as a child and I couldn't remember that Marvin had a dog. Nice! I do remember the Instant Martians.
  9. This sounds so painful as I live in Canyon Crest, 11 miles from Castle Park in Riverside California. It was a nice park that was ruined by, well..... People not caring any more, investing any more, wanting to pay any more, let the teens and gangs take over, neighborhood is drug central, ect... Little Oakland Jr. Castle is just Palace Entertainment riding a "cash cow" ride to the bottom. Castle Park still tries but they no longer can afford propper maintenance or general upkeep. I hope I am not foreshadowing. Six Flags + Cedar Fair + high interstest rates + a lot of debt + ???????? = Profit? From 2018:
  10. Someone took away his Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator. Its either the woke people, a dastardly rabbit or that front gate security. Help! Security has taken my space modulator! Delays, delays.
  11. The gondola system sounds great but have you seen this place? It would take at least 5000 years to make that much Lego! Given that Verrückt was 167 feet tall, the current tallest water slide Kilimanjaro in Brazil is 164 feet tall and Niagara Falls is 167 feet tall, I think a trapdoor spped slide or water coaster of the same height as the falls would be a catch too.
  12. I also noticed and wondered if it was the same at other Cedar Fair parks? Knott's started with Ghostrider earlier in the season by assigning rows and not allowing more than one trains worth of people past the trunstile at one time. This lead to the left or inside belt/safety checker to also have to run grouping/expediting between train loads. This caused the cycle time to go from approximately 5 minutes per dispatch to 8 minutes per dispatch, so weekday ride times doubled. During spring break, this has at least spreaded to Jaguar and Pony Express with multiple groupers and no more than one train load in the station at a time. I have seen SIlverbullet groupers not let more than 4 people per row into the station at a time. Why don't they want people in the station any longer?
  13. I found a picture of the menu on Google. Bottom middle Partida Tequila - Anejo $100. I had the $22 Bloody Mary and $22 Cantina Del Sur Margarita and one was Tabasco, tomato juice and generic vodka and the other was bad tequila and sweet and sour mix. Tasted like it came from a can but I saw them pour all the ingedients right in front of me right from te liquor bottles with name brands I have never heard of. The margarita's ranged in price from $20 to $100. The $100 margarita's had some sort of aged tequila in a colorful bottle. It is the disgusting sweet and sour mix that will ruin it for you. It should be natural orange and lime juice and not sweet and sour in grand or presidential margaritas. I have had enough expensive margaritas and been a bartender at a mexican restaurant to know how to make a decent drink. You can blame the park for crappy operaitions. Why was Jaguar's station empty with three separate lines being drawn from to fill each coaster train individually? It took about 7 - 8 minutes to get a train out and Pony Express was loading just as slowly with only loading a new row when the previous train has left the station. The flat rides were loading okay but something has changed with their coaster loading policy for the worse and we gave up on them after that. My family didn't want a Fastlane as neither of them would go on Hangtime, Xcelerator or Silverbullet so a ride or two on Ghostrider wasn't going to be worth it and none of us could get the app to work on either Android or Apple to buy single ride Fastlaness; and none of the stores that we asked at sold single ride Fastlanes. We were able to walk right into the chicken restaurant at 2 pm with no wait so the crowds were not insane. It was crowded but I have seen worse. There seemed to be more people with the blue handicap cards than Fastlanes. Most of the carnival rides were 10 to 15 minutes waits and Berry Tales was about a half-hour.
