  1. I'll second this. The left wing seat is superior than middle or right wing, and crazier the further back you go. It's a great ride wherever you sit, but I'd sit in the left wing seat every time if I could.
  2. I hope it's a real IMAX screen and not the fake lots of places are trying to push on us... http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=113621990356540393221.000469b6c5915161c3667
  3. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can. I distinctly recall buying tickets on a Friday a couple years back and then going to the park the next day. So I'm pretty sure you can just buy the tickets, then use them whenever you want.
  4. I'll second this. In fact, I'd skip any idea of going to ABC and just do Troeg's instead. There isn't much to the self-guided tour at all, so I'd suggest ponying up the duckets for the tasting tour.
  5. Last concert I went to was Flogging Molly at the Bethlehem Sands Event Center in Bethlehem, PA (5/24/12). Brothers Of Brazil opened up and they were dreadful...some kinda weird calypso-/salsa-flavored rock. By the end of their set, a fair amount of people were applauding, but I'm pretty sure they were joking. FM were fantastic and played for close to two hours. Great setlist, great energy. I'd gladly go see them again (this was my first time seeing them). Also, this was only the 3rd concert at the venue EVER...so it was neat to be one of the first to check it out. There was lots of room in the joint, plus seating up off the floor going back both sides of the place. And the sound was marvelous.
  6. Tasty...and packs a punch, too. In response to this thread, and staying on the Philly-area kick, I recently picked up a Yards sampler: - Pugilist Ale - Extra Special Ale - IPA - Pale Ale All are good, but the Pugilist and ESA really stand out.
  7. I went a few weeks back on a Sunday. If you're there when gates open, you should be able to hit a lot of the big coasters early. We arrived at 9:20 (gates opened at 10 a.m.). In the two hours we spent at the park that day (stayed until noon), we hit Skyrush, Great Bear (2X), Storm Runner (2X) and Fahrenheit (2X). I can't speak to what the park was later in the day, but those first couple hours that day were mighty sweet. Hope this helps!
  8. Outstanding movie...far better than the American remake.
  9. I, too, liked it. If you go in expecting an "Alien"-like masterpiece, you'll be disappointed. But it entertained in its own way. As for the unanswered questions, I'm curious to see how the sequel(s) address 'em.
  10. Been alternating lately between Troeg's Troegenator and Victory Summer Love ale...two very different beers, but each quite tasty.
  11. I'm fond of the Street Dogs...features Mike McColgan, the original singer for the Dropkick Murphys. Been around since the late 90s (?), I think...
  12. For as ridiculous as this article is, they may as well list "GETTING CRUSHED BY A 500-POUND BANK SAFE FALLING FROM THE SKY" as another way to get hurt in an amusement park.
  13. There's a Red Robin on the main drag there...visible from Lightning Racer. I imagine you could park there and then walk to the main gates, but you're probably looking at a solid 10-15 minute walk since you have to skirt around the park. Or.... If you're going to be there less than three hours, park in the Chocolate World parking lot for free. But, if you go over three hours, they will charge you. (The park's only open until 8 p.m. tonight, so maybe this is a valid option?)
  14. Rode Skyrush for the first time yesterday...got to the gates 40 minutes before opening, beat feet to the ride once gates opened and waited less than five minutes to get on. Was situated somewhere in the middle of the coaster and had a right wing seat. I can't add to anything that's already been said, but the airtime is absolutely unreal, and my butt spent more time out of my seat than in it. Like many others, I hated the boarding setup, but I had no issues with the lap bar. Granted, I only rode it once, but I felt no pain/discomfort afterwards. The lift is spectacular, and you are practically whipped over that first hill. Was on a tight time schedule and only had two hours to kill yesterday, but right after Skyrush, we hit Great Bear (no line) twice, Storm Runner (5-10 minute wait) twice, Fahrenheit (no line) twice and the Claw (moderate line), and still got out of there before noon.
