  1. Patriot's Day is in April.... could Cedar Fair be ready to reuse that name for another B&M Invert? Although, it's only a recognized holiday in a few states, which don't include Minnesota. Lol.
  2. That Jeffrey Seibert reads all of the forums and speculation and keeps throwing out teasers to go along with whatever people are thinking at the moment. He's basically having a laugh at everyone's expense at this point. This was his way of poking fun at how everyone has been talking about Time Machine for the past few days.
  3. They can't lift the restriction just because they want to. That restriction is in place because of the proximity to the nearby air force base.
  4. Y'all are basically arguing over what the definition would be of the term "crown jewel of the chain," which a completely subjective term that was just made up. Lol.
  5. I'm no expert, but I'm sure there a ton of different factors that can affect the final cost a new coaster. For one, the price of steel fluctuates. Also, something that costs a certain amount in one place can be more costly in another area due to a bunch of different conditions, like how available building materials are, the cost of labor, permits, etc. Just a few things to think about.
  6. If I recall, I think they have already cannibalized the old XLR-8 trains for Ninja.
  7. At this point, it's looking like SFOT's 2015 attraction is going to be some sort of dark ride/indoor non-coaster type attraction inside the Adventure Theater, which is being expanded into the spot occupied by the Skycoaster. Also, I'm pretty sure Runaway Mountain has been open all season and is unaffected by the construction. It's Roaring Rapids that was closed to accommodate the Adventure Theater construction. Runaway Mountain being relocated seems highly unlikely. Here's another thought.... remember that animation GCI uploaded a year or two ago of a copy of the Rye Aeroplane coaster in SFFT? "History in the making" would certainly fit if they were reviving a historical coaster design. Anyway, I really hope they won't be tearing down part of the Rockville Main Street facade. It's some of the best theming at any Six Flags park.
  8. In other words, there's basically nothing to photograph as far as theme park construction at this point. The only construction photos I've seen thus far have been basic land-clearing/bulldozing, presumably for the sports complex.
  9. I don't really understand why it would move to SFFT as it's really close to SFOT and wouldn't be as big of a draw (My guess) So I think next year it will be SFStL and SFOG. These two parks are over 4 hours apart, and in completely different metropolitan areas. The majority of the population don't visit both SFFT and SFOT regularly, so I can't see how that would have much effect on how the masses react to the backward trains. Not to mention the fact that being ten minutes away from an identical coaster (Great White) didn't stop Six Flags from installing a BTR clone at Fiesta.
  10. What's up with this? http://instinctmagazine.com/post/man-called-queer-kicked-out-kentucky-water-park-wearing-speedo
  11. Just wanted to add a few comments about how the elevated railway going over Diagon Alley fits in with the theme. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a very faithful embodiment of the books and films, but obviously is not 100% identical to them. They've already taken some creative license in the past to make everything work in a theme park context. For example, the presence of Ollivander's Wand Shop in Hogsmeade Village does not exist in the books or films, but the story in the park is that a second location has been opened in Hogsmeade. This was so the Ollivander's concept could be included in the experience before Diagon Alley ever existed at Universal. While Universal has changed/added/created things that are different from what we see in the films or read in the books, they've made these alterations with the utmost care and creativity, so they don't really clash with the world we see on the screen or page. Actually, the films display subtle changes from film to film as well (just look how the castle and its setting change and adapt throughout the series as the tone of the films change or as the plot requires.) The great thing about all of this is that The Wizarding World perfectly lends itself to these changes/additions/adaptations, because, well, simple magic can explain away the sudden appearance of an elevated railway zooming over Diagon Alley.
  12. Exactly. Last time involved Six Flags purchasing and operating parks outside the U.S. This more likely will only involve Six Flags licensing it's brand and trademarks. So they'll be making money rather than spending any.
  13. I think it's also worth at least a mention that Dorney has some pretty high capacity coasters for a park of it's size/attendance level, which may at least contribute somewhat to the short wait times for its big coasters.
  14. Their marketing for NTAG basically consisted of "Taller, faster, steeper, smoother and more extreme" and the GP still ate it up. The ride had a such a reputation for being a rough POS that everyone was excited enough just to hear that it was smooth, nevermind that the drop is crazy steep and the rest of it is visibly awesome, even to a member of the GP.
