  1. Okay, that was funny! Maybe it has a trimmed first drop!
  2. For those asking about height. The press release says 167 feet tall and 150 foot first drop. It also mentions three trains with eight cars each.
  3. Saturdays are the busiest days at the park. If you're at all interested in Nighthawk, I would ride that as soon as you arrive. The line for that can become very long in a short time due to slow loading. Intimidator may look like it has a long line, but if it's running all 3 trains, it still shouldn't take more than 30-45 mins to ride. Afterburn usually isn't too long either unless you want a front seat. The back row is best anyway.
  4. The whole park is closed. http://www.carowinds.com/public/visit/schedule/index.cfm
  5. Based on my weekday experience I'd start out with Afterburn & Intimidator first, most other rides in the park are walk ons until the waterpark closes for the day. If you're talking about August 25th or 26th, you're wasting your time. They aren't open either day.
  6. They are supposed to be filming at Carowinds early next week.
  7. Intamin has always been a company known to take risks, and I'm happy they do that. If they didn't, the industry would get boring and it would be cookie-cutter after cookie-cutter, year after year. With Intamin, parks have someone to contract to build something that will "put their park on the map," if you will, and give that park a "wow factor." Don't get me wrong, B&M, S&S, Premier, etc. all make great rides, but I don't see as many people scrambling to get down to Carowinds as they are for KD. Not to mention, it's lucky the Carowinds thread stays on the first page, this thread seems as if it's been at the top since Robb first rode I305. Would this thread have stayed on the first page if the ride was running as originally opened? I doubt it. Also, I don't know how much of a "risk" Intamin takes. I'm sure they do plenty of R&D before even agreeing to install a "cutting edge" ride.
  8. They are fixing their mistakes because they have to! Their reputation is at stake if they don't. Also, there could be legal consequences if they don't! Just throwing this out there as a possiblity...but did you ever consider that *maybe* the ride actually *IS* working as designed, but the park requested the trims because once they realized just how much maintenance is going to cost once the ride is open the park wanted to make some changes? I am in no way saying this is the case...BUT...so many people seem to think this is a "mistake" when in reality that could not even be the case at all! How many people have bought a car, which worked as designed, but then made their own modifications on it because they wanted it to perform differently? Happens ALL THE TIME! Moral of the story: If you don't actually have any real information about a situation, don't try to place blame on one side of the party without assuming there could be equal responsibility on the other. So you're saying it's designed to go through wheels daily? I'm sure the wheel manufactuer would love to believe that!!
  9. They are fixing their mistakes because they have to! Their reputation is at stake if they don't. Also, there could be legal consequences if they don't!
  10. I've rode the coaster 5 times and got a good ride 4 out of 5 times on it.
  11. So according to your logic, since SFOG is your home park, Goliath should be much lower on a hyper coaster rating list.
  12. Where did you sit? I've rode it 5 times (twice in the back and 3 times in the middle to front) and had massive airtime on every hill.
