For me it was the Lil' Phantom during Kennywood's Holiday Lights. I can' wait to ride his daddy this spring!

Honestly, I believe Cedar Fair bought Geauga Lake for the purpose of closing it. I heard and saw too much to believe that they tried to keep the park going. Obviously they had the intention of keeping the waterpark for the long haul, otherwise they wouldn't have built Wildwater Kingdom. Cedar Fair had a great return on investment with this deal. They killed one of their biggest competitors, continued to make a profit before closing the park, and got a ton of rides to market at other parks as "new" attractions. The Illions carousel was worth millions alone. On top of that there was a top notch B&M floorless and three other steel coasters that have found new homes around the country. Cedar Point got Planet Snoopy out of the deal and the other flats have been thrown all over the place. I don't think there's a single Cedar Fair park in the US that doesn't have a piece of Geauga Lake. Cedar Fair definitely made back more than they had spent to purchase the park. I'm sorry, but there's no way the park was failing as badly as they claimed it was. Cedar Fair cited stagnant attendance figures as a major factor in closing the park, assuming they were the actual attendance figures. I personally think it was impressive the figures stayed stagnant and didn't decrease. Operating costs decreased due to attraction removals and shortened operating seasons. These two measures are exactly the kind of things that would potentially drive down attendance, but they didn't. Therefore, net profit for the park should have increased each year under Cedar Fair management. Proportionally, attendance would have increased as well considering the seasons were shorter. Based on what I witnessed in the park, I also believe that the attendance figures were manufactured. What this all comes down to is that closing the park was an extreme measure. TOO extreme, I believe. This is simply my opinion and I respect those with varying opinions. The fact of the matter is that we will never entirely understand for sure what caused the ruin of the park. I personally think that Six Flags sold it too soon, but that's delving even further into the unknown. What I am sure of is that the Cleveland area is really missing a local amusement park, specifically Geauga Lake.

Kennywood's Racer also jumps tracks. It's the only logical explanation for why it switches sides. I'm convinced that's what 50% of people think, at least.

NAD Century Flyer Trains are by far my favorite coaster trains of all time. The silver metal art deco cladding is one of a kind and is truly stunning. If only there was a park that maintained the headlights... The most comfortable coaster trains would be a tree way tie between the Phantom's Revenge, TTD and Millie The best darkride car is definitely a classic pretzel. As far as flatride cars go, my favorites are the Traver turtle cars on Kennywood's Turtle. Last but not least, my favorite simulator car will always be the Delorean Time Machines.

I've been going to Kennywood my entire life and own a season pass to the park. At the risk of looking like a tourist I still take pictures of everything in the park every once in a while. Don't worry about it. Amusement parks are one of the coolest places to take photos, and I'm not just saying that from an enthusiast's point of view. Just take pictures and, above all, have fun!

I'll be there bright and early, seeing how I was lucky enough to not be scheduled to work tomorrow. I can't wait!

That's when the power of insinuation comes in handy. They could take some negative stuff and spin it around to sound positive, but no ACE member in their right mind would call Mean Streak smooth. Perhaps they'd say something like, "It's the kind of crazy wild ride that only a wooden coaster could provide." or, "ACE members love to see parks build newer wooden coasters and Mean Streak is the next to be added to Cedar Point's amazing collection of world-class, record-breaking roller coasters." There are a lot of ways to make a bad thing sound good without lying. Just ask any politician! But getting back to your point, reporters from the Post-Gazette are allowed to say bad things about the ride, so I'm very happy to hear him give Sky Rocket a positive review. Plus the ACErs on this site wouldn't lie about the ride on the forums.

This is the line I thought was funny: That's logical. The people who have ridden the roughest and the smoothest coasters in the world don't know the difference between smooth and rough? I'm sorry but I feel that the more coasters you ride, the more you can feel the differences, not the less. When coaster enthusiasts say a ride is smooth, chances are they know what they're talking about. I guess he thinks that all those coasters have dulled the senses?

They gave ACErs 1 lap each, the ride still won't open for another week, so obviously something's not ready. Rumor has it that the park wasn't willing to open the ride to the general public with only one train being operational because of the obvious capacity issues it would have, although I have no way of knowing for sure. I realize that the ERT was very limited, but the point was that it happened. My point this whole time was that I didn't want ACEr's to give up hope. I knew how badly the park wanted to have the ride open for them and how likely it was that they would get it to happen at all costs. I'm just glad they were able to deliver. It's riding just like its old self again and possibly even better!

You mean to say that they finished the queue in time to open Sky Rocket for Coaster Con! I'm in shock! I thought it would take at least another six months.

Unexpected delay #1:

Um yeah you have no way of knowing that for sure. According to the time frame we knew about how the ride could open after two weeks of testing, we may very well see Sky Rocket up and running by Coaster Con. We already know that it can safely complete a circuit. Now all that's left is a tweaking of the launch programming and trim breaks to get this ride running at its best.
