  1. Okay, time for everybody's TTD Train History lesson: Yes, TTD did start with 4-car trains for press previews, and that was only two trains (red and green I believe). Almost IMMEDIATELY after that, the fifth car was added to those two trains and all the trains ran with all the cars. By the way, the fins up front are NOT brake fins. They're strictly for theming. All the brake mechanics (magnets on train, copper fins on track) are below the train. The weekend of May 16, the tires were removed. I was there that weekend, I got two trips with the tires, one without. Also, all the trains had five cars. When TTD was shut down for most of June, they removed the engine and rear spoiler, which were replaced by two additional seats. I think the front spoilers have since been removed, but I'm not entirely sure.
  2. Hey! All this gives me an idea...TPR personals!
  3. That was the plan, however that is now where the MGM Cast Services bulding is now (well, on part of the ear-marked land anyways). Otherwise, it's just parking lot behind Epic. I did find pictures of the Adventure placement in MGM somewhere online, I'll try to find it and get it posted. Otherwise, just check out Google maps for ariel views of MGM to see the space. EDIT: Found it at www.jimhillmedia.com, dated 1995! Cast Services building in "Future Restaurant" space and then some.
  4. It also depends a lot on the park you're going to. Last year I took my camera to Adventureland in Altoona, Iowa and I just asked the ride-ops. They all said, "That's fine, but if you drop it then it's gone." On The Tornado, the op even gave us (me and a buddy of mine, two college kids) tips on how to get the best video. On The Outlaw, one of the ops even watched the video we shot right there on the station (before you blast them on it, there was NO ONE else in the park and the only people riding The Outlaw were my buddy and me, the train cycled when we asked them to).
  5. 8/23/04-1/03/05: Fantasyland Merchandise, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World. 1/21/05-Present: Disney Theme Parks and Resorts College Program Campus Representative (it counts!) I can't wait to go back. Every time I got off the monorail, through the turnstiles, under the train station, and got that first look of the castle down Main Street, I had chills running down my spine. In fact, I'm more obsessed with Disney parks now more than I have ever been. Now being outbid by an eBay sniper who is obsessed with cats on a Tomorrowland 2055 jacket in my size, THAT hurts
  6. Midwest here, specifically Iowa. Closest park: Adventureland USA, about 2 hour drive.
  7. No video taping on Stitch, the CMs working it will shine their flashlight into the camera and yell. If that doesn't work they put their hand over the lens and keep yelling. If that doesn't work they lift the restraint and escort you out. Yes that did happen. No, it did not happen to me.
  8. That's right, it's being moved...12 meters. Yes, meters as in "3-inches-longer-than-a-yard." Why is it being moved? Feng Shui. Either this is an April fools joke, or Queer Eye for the Straight Guy has gone WAY too far! Link to press release on rcdb.com: http://www.rcdb.com/document169.htm
  9. I know before Arrow was bought up they were working on some concepts to bring back their suspended coasters. On their website they had pictures of new suspended cars, they looked like Vekoma SLC cars. They also had pictures and videos of new layouts, including ones with inversions.
  10. DL's Space Mountain is NOT getting a new layout last I heard, it was just getting brand new track. And just because DL's Space Mountain was re-tracked does NOT mean that WDW's will be getting the same treatment as they are two VERY different ride systems.
