  1. I visited yesterday as well. The presence of the school groups initially dampened my spirits when I thought I might not get to ride everything I wanted. Fortunately, the majority of the groups left the park around 5pm, freeing up the lines for every ride. That fact permitted me to complete 11 of the coasters with minimal waits. I think that's a record for me. That, plus the drop in temperature, made the last three hours of the day very pleasant. I really enjoyed Laff Trakk as well. Nice job on that one, though it could be a bit darker inside.
  2. I went today and it was pretty much as you described your visit. At 1130am, Goliath's line was 210 minutes, though it settled down a bit later. I didn't have the stamina (or bladder) to endure that kind of wait, so I was only able to ride Raging Bull and X-Flight, waiting a total of 2.5 years for both. The temperature dropped significantly later in the day, so I headed out. Much too cold for this westcoaster.
  3. Yikes, I certainly hope it's not that bad this weekend. I don't really have choice, as I'm visiting from out of town, but I'm planning on arriving early to beat any lines. Not crazy about the cool weather either, so I won't be staying after sundown. Is there early entry for Membership holders?
  4. That's a consideration as well, but for similar money, I'd rather drive myself. BTW, is there wi-fi available inside the park?
  5. Thanks. My plan at this point is to try to rent Saturday and return Monday at the airport. Unless I can find a place that's open nearby. I do have a membership pass, but I'll only have time for a single visit this time around.
  6. I'll be staying in Andersonville. I'm flying in to O'Hare, but didn't want to rent a car for the entire trip. Was trying to avoid taking a trip to the airport just to pick up the car, but that may be a solution. I could rent Sunday morning and return it Monday before my flight out.
  7. Got a bit of a transportation challenge for everyone. I'll be in Chicago next weekend and am planning on visiting Six Flags on Sunday. I thought renting a car just for Sunday might be the way to go, but all the major rental agencies are closed Sundays. I don't need a car for the entire weekend, just the one day. Any suggestions for getting there and back? I'm staying about 40 miles to the south of the park. Thanks for any suggestions.
  8. FYI, the Jamie Lee Curtis Taete that wrote the article is not the actress, but a male writer for Vice Magazine.
  9. Thanks for the motel advice everyone. I'll take a look at your suggestions.
  10. The cottages do look charming, but they are a little pricey for the dates I'll be staying. Thanks though.
  11. Thanks. I'll be going to the park on a Friday and staying in the area that night. I like Days Inn usually, and I'll gladly stay there in a pinch, but I'm just seeing if there are any less expensive places for now. 20 miles probably isn't too far either.
  12. I am going to Holiday World for the day next month. I see there are a number of motels close to and farther away from the park. What are the odds I'll be able to find a motel room for a couple of nights within ten miles of the park without a reservation? Any recommendations would be helpful. I'd prefer a motel with free wi-fi, and in the $60/night range.
  13. I'll going to Kings Island for a couple of days later this month. I see there are a number of motels close to and farther away from the park. What are the odds I'll be able to find a motel room for a couple of nights within ten miles of the park without a reservation? Any recommendations would be helpful. I'd prefer a motel with free wi-fi, and in the $60/night range.
  14. I'll going to Cedar Point for a couple of days later this month. I see there are a number of motels close to and farther away from the park. What are the odds I'll be able to find a motel room for a couple of nights within ten miles of the park without a reservation?
  15. I think I've seen enough of Six Flags' toilets running backwards to suit me, thank you.
