  1. I was under the impression that the contract with Universal/Marvel was limited to the Florida parks. But then again, it's been a while since I've heard it from a reliable source. I have read the contract a few times due to discussions on forums. So I am half way familiar with it. Link to the contract But here is the relevant text. There are other restrictions as well but that is the reason Disneyland cannot use the name Marvel. So then have a generically named 'Super Hero BLVD' with Marvel attractions. Seems like an easy work around.
  2. If they released a train in that condition, I wonder how far it would make it.
  3. Look at the timeline B&M have said before they take 3 years to produce a coaster, from sketch to opening. The 2016 operating season is less than a year and a half from now, which means if true, CP is well past the selection stage. If CP said they were in the selection stage for 2016 (which probably isn't possible for a project this big), that would mean they were deliberately trying to be deceptive, which makes me inclined to think this is true:)
  4. I had thought the system received upgrades with the last round of new monorails? Was that not the case? --Robb Yes, the controls were upgraded with touchscreens and a new Windows based operating system starting in 2003. But no, there is still no computerized system in place to keep track of where each train is on the beam. And there are still no cameras on the trains. When I was a monorail driver I felt there were a lot of systems which could be upgraded. As we have seen, even with a system that is very safe, problems can still occur. I see it sort of like a numbers game. The monorails have safely moved millions of passengers for fourty years. They are 99.9999% safe, but in fourty years of operation there is still opportunity for that .0001% chance to occur.
