  1. What about Thursdays in the summer (specifically July 7)? In a similar boat where I can get there at park opening, but I only have about 3 hours or so. Hoping to collect all the credits (and maybe the flume and train). First trip up there. And, I know some parks are near the same crowd levels on weekdays. Others are not (weekend heavy). Greatly appreciate any thoughts!
  2. I agree with the posts. I think this looks like a very good use of height and space. Great addition to Fun Spot as it tries to steer in a different direction! I'm also interested to see how this hybrid structure does in Florida (in a good way).
  3. Pretty simple for mine... I live in the Midtown neighborhood here in Atlanta, and I am a "Coaster" (i.e. lover of roller coasters).
  4. I'm a bit surprised that Six Flags didn't have more of an "English speaking" presence... Guess I'll have to trek up Buford Highway and learn some Spanish if I ever make the trek down there. In all seriousness, though, great trip report. I agree the Anton coasters are a real treat to see. Although they aren't in the best cosmetic shape, great to see them running. Glad you had a good time, and really appreciate you sharing it with all of us stuck stateside for the foreseeable future!
  5. As an Atlantan (as someone else noted), BIG fan of this switch! I actually used to be a Pepsi fan in my much younger days. Now that I've moved to the ATL, it's Coke 100%. Glad another park has joined the right side.
  6. I'll start the Fanboy chain... haha. That's awesome! I fully admit it was a "unique" show, and not for everyone. But, I for one, loved the AC - and really am not very excited about West Side v2.0. But, all about whatever makes money, I guess... Glad to see AC got at least one night of revival, though!
  7. This is GREAT news! I'd gotten to the point where I simply wouldn't ride it - even though the Cyclone layout is one of my favorite wooden rides. I remember thinking this would be a great application for this when Rocky Mountain first came on the scene. Looking forward to trekking out I-20 this spring to see (and ride) it live!
  8. TOGO making a recreation of Steel Phantom. What's worse than riding SOB right after eating a huge Thanksgiving meal?
  9. Thanks for the update! They really do go all out on the decor. That's pretty impressive! And, looking forward to seeing Verbolten as it continues to get built out. This one has some promise to be a solid family ride.
  10. REEEEEEAALLLLY jealous. It looks like a really great event, and an amazing opportunity to meet some of the men and women behind these things. I agree there are a lot of "smaller" rides that could prove great, affordable additions for smaller parks. Real "bang for the buck". The High Five is pretty damn sexy, though...
  11. A park with Togo-designed SLCs. What's worse than riding a Vekoma hung over?
