  1. And to add another park connection, this was formerly the Mayan Mindbender at Astroworld. Except it gets to play in broad daylight now! Great TR! Thanks for sharing the fun. (Edit: that info was also posted on another thread recently as well -- sorry if I restated that info)
  2. It took about 4 to 5 seconds using Firefox 4.0b11 on Windows XP.
  3. Same here! When the cam went flying around, I panicked until I saw she was OK. She's such a trouper! Think they'd let me zip down the Alpine Slide in my wheelchair? BANZAI!!!! Thanks for an awesome trip report, as always.
  4. Damn straight! I've been a lurker for many years aound here (check my post count since 2006), but I just had to get in on the fun!
  5. You know, if the .org folks were really serious with their efforts to save the coaster and actually had a semi-feasible plan (not to mention a CLUE), they could at least save their credibility. As the old saying goes, "Actions speak louder than words", and instead of attacking Rob(b) on Twitter they could have been using that time to pull out a few nails to show they mean business. By shunning those simply offering constructive feedback (which would be beneficial for organizational help, html tips, free publicity in the coaster community, etc) they've totally let their selfishness get the best of them. I just pulled 3 nails out of my dining room wall, which I'll happily donate to anyone to anyone who needs them to rebuild the Texas Cyclone. And I just wasted more valuable nail-pulling time while writing this. Actions > Words. Rob(b) Rock(k)s! "Never try to teach a whore how to swallow. It wastes your time and annoys the whore"
  6. After careful analysis of the SavetheBigDipper.org feasability study, we conclude that a coaster CAN be rebuilt/transferred by the group by using the building supplies and plans we have located. Keep in mind that a small amount of additional funds would still have to be raised. By working within their level of expertise, we feel that they would have no problem with dissasembly/reassembly of said coaster pictured HERE.
  7. So am I correct in assuming that this type of structure should result in fewer labor hours for maintenance than the previous wooden structure? If so, I could see that fitting into the industry's need to streamline operating costs while still raising the bar on guests' expectations. Either way, call it what you wish and just know that we're in for a helluva ride when it opens!
