  1. Yep, Sean and his brother Michael, along with some friends, built the backyard Matterhorn and this is their second coaster.
  2. No one's responded to this thread in a while! Anyways, I had the pleasure of assisting Magitecture (the ones who built that Materhorn Bobsleds BYRC last year) on their latest backyard coaster adventure, Little Thunder Mountain! I designed and programmed the control system for them, as well as helping get everything started up this past August! Below are the videos featuring the ride and I am currently working with them on a video about how the control system works. The ride is currently up for sale, less lift and launch components due to liability, since the location the ride is at now is going to be up for sale by the end of the year. Not sure how much they want for it, but I'm sure it's not cheap! Anyways, I give you "The greatest backyard roller coaster ever built!

  4. Draftsight is a Free AutoCAD alternative that I use to design things at work and Automation Direct has CAD dwg's of almost everything the sell, which include 30mm PBs.
  5. So I had to design a panel for work... Look Familiar? EDIT: Sorry, I had to take the pic down due to customer request. Basically, it was a control panel for a brazing vacuum furnace that mimics the sleek Consign panels. Everyone at my company really likes the design, so we will be using it for future projects. Also, there is an interesting article about a control system overhaul done on the Hurricane roller coaster in NM over on go2adc.com/ride-ss
  6. Got a new one... I scoured the internet to find one of this ride, but alas, I had to go to the ride to get a pic... Behold, Invadr at Busch Gardens Williamsburg! Invadr’s sexy Consign panel
  7. The function of the "Acknowledge" button is the same as a Trouble button, which is found on the older B&M Panels like Apollo's Chariot (The first ride I ever operated). Newer Consign panels (ie Fury 325 and Gatekeeper) and IOE Panels tend to have Acknowledge buttons, but in the end, they do the same thing: acknowledge/clear faults and silence alarms.
  8. Don't think this has been shared yet, but here is a screenshot of Drachen Fire's control panel from the Defunctland episode, found here: Drachen Fire [Defunct] at Busch Gardens Williamsburg
  9. While it's not a real panel (yet), this is a preliminary version of the panel layout for the backyard coaster that I plan to build in the mid-to-distant future. Based off of the more recent Consign panels on B&M rides. While I may be a controls system engineer, I don't really have much say in the final designs, as that is usually up to the customer and the engineering manager. I have wanted to build a backyard coaster since I was a kid, and now that I have gained a lot of engineering experience (though not from any ride manufacturers), I am going all out on this project. Wont share much about it here, as it is not the correct thread, but will definitely share updates on the panel here! Panel is a Saginaw SCE-464919SDC Operator Desk Console. Most Buttons are Eaton, but some will be AB (ie. Key Switches on left side). Touch Screen is an EZ Automation 10" display.
