  1. My favorite day of the year! This will be the third (fourth?) year in a row we are going to the first weekend of halloweekends on a Sunday. In the past the lines for the rides were minimal all morning and we never waited more than 10 minutes for any of the mazes. Great time to go, for sure. Of course, your milage may vary. We always hit Maverick/Millennium Force for early entry, and then TTD at opening (front row only!) and we never experience any lines in the park longer than 15 minutes, with most coasters being a walk-on. Let's hope the same remains true this year! I hope this remains true as I plan on being there Sunday too! I was going on Saturday, but in an attempt to not have to buy a fast pass, I decided to Go Sunday instead.
  2. Why is there a need to compare Twisted Timbers and Steel Vengence? They're both RMCs opening in 2018 yes but there is no point in letting a larger faster longer coaster overshadow another one. I'm not going to ride Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens and be bummed that it's not Intimidator 305 or El Toro. If you constantly think about how much better coaster x is than other coasters it makes the hobby a lot less fun for you. Just ride coasters and have fun. 100% this! A lot of enthusiasts spend so much time comparing every coaster to every other coaster they have been on that they completely forget just to have fun. This is one reason why I do not rank my coasters.
  3. Anyone gonna be at Kings Island Wednesday? Possibly wanna meet up and hang out? I am heading up for the whole day Wednesday and part of the day Thursday. I have been to several parks by myself but it is definitely better to have someone to hang out with haha.
  4. Heading to Cedar Point this coming weekend for the first time since 2008 I will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Anyone got any advice on what to ride first? What gets the longest lines? I am expecting it to be crazy busy since it is a weekend in July. Possibly a fast pass?
  5. Assuming I can get off of work, which shouldn't be a problem. I will be at Cedar Point on the 29th and 30th of this month, and possibly the evening of the 28th. I am heading up with my family, but they are going to a car show, and they hate amusement parks anyways. So is anyone gonna be there then? Anyone want to meet up? Meeting some new theme park friends would be awesome!
  6. Pacing looks awesome! Looks like this could be one of the best GCI's. Hopefully whatever is in the shed isn't gonna be a disappointment but I am not gonna set my expectations too high
  7. I got to ride Hypersonic several times over the course of two days back in 2006. It was one of the few coasters that has ever made me nervous haha. The launch was one of the most intense moments ever, on a coaster! I am really glad I got to ride it!
  8. I am just curious to see how much height RMC is gonna add to this if any? I have yet to ride Storm Chaser, but I have heard nothing but good things. As a matter of fact, I have yet to ride an RMC period. I am a bit behind I know. Even though Hurlers layout was a bit lack luster, I think RMC can work some magic with it. I can definitely see some inversions in this!
  9. I have done many parks alone. It is really nice to be able to do what you want when you want, so I enjoy that aspect of it. However, it isn't my preference. The social aspect for me enhances an already great experience! That is one of the many reasons why I joined this site(I'm new here, haha). In hopes of making some coaster/theme park enthusiast friends. Most of my "non-enthusiast" friends enjoy parks and coasters, but not to the extent that I do. Not to mention most of them are too busy or broke to be bothered going to parks. And of the ones that I do go to parks with, excluding a few, most of them are ready to go home after a few hours..... While I like to stay from open to close 99% of the time. So in the absence of any coaster/park enthusiast friends, I have ended up going to a lot of parks by myself haha. I promise, I am super easing going, and easy to get along with lol. It was just a lack of effort on my part to meet like-minded people. So having said that, I have usually had a really great time at parks alone and will most likely do it again. But for me, the social aspect is what makes the experience and memories even better!
  10. I am so excited to see what RMC can do with Hurler! But I am also excited to see this bring this area of the park to life, as it is kind of dead..... Gonna be cool to see this progress!
